Anxiety vs Gut Feeling?

How can you tell the difference between anxiety and a strong gut feeling?
I feel like I have a gut feeling about something and then second guess that it may just be anxiety about the situation.
Basically I want to call my guy friend who I really like and I think he likes me but I'm not 100% positive.
I want to call him and ask him to hang out again and just tell him how I feel, but I want to make sure it feels right because Timing is everything, I just don't know if what I'm feeling is nerves (I'm shy with this stuff) or if I'm getting a gut feeling to go for it?

  • I would say gut feeling is that instantaenous no thinking response and anxiety is the overthinking of that gut feeling.
