Why does everyone want me to get a girlfriend?

I'm sure they mean well and I'm not taking it badly. I just get asked a lot by coworkers male and female why I don't have a girlfriend. I got told by a coworker that we needed to find me a girlfriend. I often get asked what my type is so they can help me. A lot of them are often shocked when they find out I don't have one? Any reason why people want to know and help me get one?

Not sure why they'd insist on getting you a girlfriend, but if you're happy by yourself, then by all means don't let anyone try to force you into a relationship.
