I have never heard an expression like that, what does it mean?
Sounds like a bunch of BS. A weird way of saying he likes you?
But how? In a 'I look at you and feel bad for you like I would a puppy' or 'I like you as a person' or 'I like you as more than a person, possibly on the way to more'?
He like likes you. -12 year old voice-
Lol okay, thanks for your help.

@RedThread sometimes ya gatta spell it out for them
Straight forward, obvious answer that's helpful when an overthinker like me is questioning everything to death.
Asker, you could also just try asking him to elaborate.
I did when he said he cared about me and then he said he has an affection for me. So I said oh okay. But then wondered like if he just feels bad for me, likes me as a person or a bit more than that and how much more. So, since we're not a couple or anything I didn't want to go crazy questioning.
