So basically, I'm working at a restaurant as a waitress and there's this guy that comes quite often to eat. He usually comes with a group of friends, so it's hard for me to find a personal conversation with him. Later on, I found out his name and added him on Facebook. So, apparently we never talk to each other except me taking orders. Then, last night I sent him a message saying that we (our restaurant) haven't seen him for awhile and we're missing our regular customers. (Just being friendly here) However, he never opened the message but then it shows that he's been active on Facebook. Is it a turn off? Or is he going to think that I'm creepy and weird?

If he thinks that you only friended him to make him come back to the restorant, then yes, it's weird... If some clerk from Walmart friended me to convince me to come back to Walmart, I would probably be disgusted by their marketing methods. Try talking to him on a personal note. forget about the restaurant unless to explain him where you saw him.1

Well it's kinda weird, because it's an obvious lie. You've made it look like it's a concern from the restaurant while you send it with your personal account. It's probably better to just be straight forward the next time and not have a (very obvious) hidden agenda. Next time a 'hey, i saw you at the restaurant where i work and think you're pretty cute' probably works better. Just take responsibility for your fuckup (happens to everyone), don't hide it but don't make it bigger than it is by being ashamed or awkward about it, and maybe you'll find a more honest way to show your interest towards him next time.1
