It seems some individuals do better by themselves than in a relationship. As in fitness, professsion, school, friends, etc.
Why is this? They excel more in life in lots of ways. Is this normal? I'm one of those people but I still feel lonely here and there.

It's not so much about the relationship as it is about the individual. Some people are not at all comfortable by being by themselves or with feelings of loneliness. These people will almost always be in a relationship for years or decades at a time. Other people may have a serious relationship sporadically and then spend years being single. Whether or not there is a correlation between their willingness to be alone and their success in life is an area of speculation.0
