Well, *some* people do it because they feel delighted and/or empowered when people are jealous of them.
However, perhaps they're not bragging so much as they are just talking about them and you are *perceiving* it as bragging. Frankly, I have found in most cases it's the latter.
I would say it's best to understand that they are happy they are in love. I believe this serves as a reminder to you that you're not currently in a relationship, which understandably is saddening to you. The wisest thing is to understand that they're not doing it to brag or bring you down (in most cases).
I believe what's making you feel like crap is that you aren't in a relationship, you would like to be, and their talking reminds you of this.
The solution is two steps. Try your utmost to enjoy the life you have as a single woman while every day taking steps to make yourself emotionally and physically attractive to the type of man you want (and enjoying an interesting life goes a long way to attracting people).
because they are happy and excited about their relationship. i don't really think Most people do it to make others feel bad but rather just because they are excited and enjoy sharing that excitement
i'm sure there are those who do it to sort of elevate themselves, in their mind, above those who don't have partners
Is it a new relationship? If yes, then it's the norm. Some gurls brag about it to show how 'happy' and 'loved' they are, which might not always be the case, some do it to show how 'great' their guy is. Everyone do it for different reasons, but some times it's about the attention they are getting. They love being in the spotlight and having a relevant thing to talk about ie their boyfriend. But again, some like to talk about it because they are really into the guy (can't blame this group of people!).
If those gurls are not your close friends, just pay no heed to them. They'll get tired of it when people stop paying attention to them.
I do it but not all the time, I guess I get so happy because I was once afraid to even date a guy, hearing a lot negative stuff about guys made me have trust issues. I only bring up things a out my boyfriend only if someone ask me, other than that I don't say anything.
As for other girls they are just happy and I honestly think that they don't see it as bragging. I honestly didn't see it as bragging.
Having a boyfriend makes a girl feel more secure and validated. She has convinced a man that she desireable enough to commit to beyond a physical relsyonship. Considering how non-commital some guys can be, it's as if she was "chosen". I know it can be annoying, but try to understand her perspective. You'd be thrilled if you had a boyfriend too! Admit it!!

You sure they're bragging and not just talking? It seems like you're a bit jealous, which would explain why you'd perceive it as bragging. My friends and I sometimes talk about our boyfriends, doesn't mean we're bragging. We're just talking.
Because they are in love. And it is normal when we are in that position. We will someday be like that too. You will be ike that too. And it is okay. Just dont deny it.. 😛

There was a question response made by a female which says women are in constant competition with other women. They use men as trophies if you will to rub in other girls faces of the commitment they got from said male.
