The condition the person has can vary from a woman having facial hair or a deep voice to a man having breasts, and (in rare cases) a person having both male and female genitalia.
I knew someone who was intersex. She had CAIS (Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome). She has XY chromosomes but developed as a female in the womb. She didn't look or sound masculine at all but had to take estrogen pills because her body didn't produce any. She also can't have kids for this reason :(
