Would an Indian guy date a Finnish girl?

I like this guy that is in my class, i'm of Finnish descent i don't know if he would like me, since he moved from India a year ago. There isn't many Indian girls around so i'm hoping he would. He does smile anytime he catches me staring. He's really smart and is sweet to me. I don't knw he takes me to breakfast but only because we live close by,(it's on our way to school). He usually talks about tech stuff and school. We do talk about relationships but he says he's never had a girlfriend. I don't know Should he have already asked me out if he was interested?

As an Indian guy who isn't from india but obviously knows the culture and people who've come from there. Yeah, he might be willing to date you. He probably won't make the first move though because in a lot of places in India, dating before marriage is looked down on so the people that do it, do it secretly. Dating non Indians is also usually a no in parents' eyes. Also, he's never dated before so that's another hurdle to pass. That said, if you make the first move, he might be willing to give it a shot but please be aware that it might take a long time for him to introduce you to his parents as there's a lot more at stake for him. If he says no, it could be he's not into you or he just doesn't feel comfortable enough going against his parents and the way he was raised.

I'm sure he would, but maybe his parent wouldn't allow it. This shouldn't stop him from dating you.

With guys, they pretty much like you or they don't. He willingly spends time with you, so that's a plus. As far as romantic interest, do you hang out other times? Does he go out of his way to see you? Are there other girls he spends time with? He obviously likes you, but it might just be as a friend. Considering he's around non Indian people now, it would make sense he date outside his nationality, but that may not necessarily be you. You need to figure out in what way he likes you.

He may be too shy to ask you out. Going to breakfast together, smiling are good signs of interest or liking.

You can always ask him about his family situation in regards to their traditions.

My college exs family was very strict. I had to pretend to be a freind borrowing a book when i visited. He told me his older sister and brother had arrangements from the family even though they go out on dates with other pepole.

Lol I doubt that tbh. Marriages arranged before the kid is an adult is rare unless they're from a village, which if they've managed to move out of the country, is unlikely. Even being from the village doesn't say much in its own. Lots of people live in villages but are close enough to cities that they're basically city people anyway.

@3336PS I doubt it mate. I'm Indian as well. Or well, born to an Indian family at least and I still talk to people in India and visit often enough. I've also lived there briefly, most recently as 3 years ago. The practice is pretty outdated even in India now and most families don't really do it unless they're ultra conservative (by Indian standards, not western) which is relatively rare and those families, when they move abroad, don't typically choose areas low in fellow Indian population.

@3336PS Oh I don't doubt that. I mentioned there'd be difficulties in my original response to the Asker. I just doubt the issue is he's got an arranged bride :P

Also, depending on his background, he might get lucky. I've found Christian kids tend to have more liberal parents when it comes to dating other ethnicities with the caveat being that the partner usually has to be Christian as well. Also, if they make it far enough to have kids, the parents will come around because all they care about at that age is grandkids haha.

If he is a nice guy and you have a good friendship it doesn't matter where he comes from you will eventually start dating.
