Does texting a guy everyday seem clingy?

Ugh that's the one thing I don't want to be is clingy. I just started texting my crush this week and I just want to talk to him all the time which I know is unrealistic lol. I'm just wondering by the way lol :)

  • Nope. If my girlfriend doesn't text me during the day I end up texting her - we usually we're either at work and can't call or just don't want to use the minutes sitting on the phone. Since we have the unlimited texts, we use 'em.

it really depends on the people involved, though. My girlfriend doesn't text me random, boring crap or super clingy messages like "who are you with" "what are you doing" and all that blah blah blah, we usually have interesting stuff to talk about.

There's another girl who came out and said she was romantically interested in me before I started dating my GF, and she always texts the same crap (even now!). The conversation usually goes something like:

    Her: Sup.

Me: Not much, just at work, what's up with you?

    Her: Was you doin 2day?

Me: I have church group until late.

    Her: IC I'm board

    Me: That sucks

Her: I was going 2 c if you wana hang out 2day?

Me: I don't get out until late

    (30 minutes later)

    Her: Sup

    Me: Still at work

    Her: K

    (1 hour later)

    Her: Sup was you doin?

Me: ...still at work :-/ what are you up to?

Her: ic wana hang out 2day?

Like, literally verbatim that's one of our "conversations". She never says anything meaningful or even cares how I'm doing or what I'm talking about, she basically just wants to hang out so she isn't "board". That's lame and clingy. Also, no leetspeak. Ever. We don't like that. Ew. Bad. Wrong.

Also, since we're on the subject of texting - NO SIGNATURES. This girl has a signature that says "<3 xXhernameXx" that shows up after EVERY TEXT. So damn annoying. Quit that, ladies.

  • Are you guys in a relationship? If not, texting him every day will be a red flag. Either cut back on it or start going out with him.

If you're in a relationship, then it's pretty normal - the "honeymoon" phase, basically.

  • Yeah.

If you want to talk that much, make a phone call.

The constant texting is just annoying. It's almost like you think he has no life of his own, and nothing to do all day but type out messages to you.

  • As a general rule of thumb, I only initiate contact with guys I have a crush on the same amount of times that the initiate contact with me. This goes for texts and instant messages.

  • If he's starting the conversations then no

If you're starting the conversations then no

If your conversation ended or is dead and you're still trying to revive it (at all times of the day) then yes that's a bit clingy

  • Is he talking to you just as much as you're talking to him?

If the conversation seems very one-sided, he might be annoyed... If it's actual talking back and forth and he seems interested in talking to you, congrats, haha.
