If you and a friend were going out to dinner, would you call it a date?

I wouldn't. But everyone thinks differently.

I would call a date went two people like each other as more than friends.

It just I did go out to dinner and I thought it was as friends, but he said he was talking to his friend about it and called it a date and I am confused. I should've asked him what he meant. And now I feel like it's too late too ask. N this dude has been sending major mixed signals for a while.
I didn't think it was. He said date. Not me! I don't need an explanation of what a date is. I have been on them before. And really, this wasn't much different. Just a different guy.
I'm just seeing what the general public calls a date to see if anyone just calls a casual friend dinner a date. Cause I would never use that word if I didn't mean it.

    • No. I wouldn't. His friend did. Then he told me.

He asked me to go to dinner. I said yes. We've never hung out before.

    • Yes.

He's not over his ex tho. I know it.

    • which is why I phrased my previous comment

like I did, there's still the chance that it's just a meeting

but I can't see why he would stay silent if it's just

a friendly meeting, but.. there's a third option..

he could be trying to forcefully get over his ex

by meeting other women, that could also be

a reason not to tell ^.~

  • Dating is a form of courtship consisting of social activities done by two people with the aim of each assessing the others' suitability as a PARTNER in an INTIMATE relationship or as a SPOUSE. While the term has several meanings, it usually refers to the act of meeting and engaging in some mutually agreed upon social activity in public, together, as a COUPLE.

If only one has romantic intentions and the other is oblivious then no It's not a date. Just two buddies getting there grub on.
