What do you think of this "millionaires dating" agency?

The other day this woman came up to me, saying I'd be perfect for her company, which as it turns out, is an agency that hooks up very wealthy men with "normal" girls

The office was very clean and proper, I didn't didn't seem sketchy and it's free so signed up. I'm just wondering a bit what kind of man would join a site like that?

She said that those men look for someone who isn't after their money. Well it's a little counter intuitive to join a millionaires dating site then isn't it? Why not go to a normal agency and not talk about money.

She said most men would be older than, I'd be fine with up to 35 and she said she has a lot of clients that fit that range. I'm just a little scared I'll be seen as escort or hooker. I don't want to be bought if you know what I mean?

  • Here's the deal: there are two kinds of millionaires: the ones who earned their money and the ones who inherited it or got super-lucky some other way.

There'a an abyss between these two kinds in terms of being able to function in the society, though obviously there are exceptions.

The guys who made millions since young age, tend to have both the street smarts and the business smarts. They hadn't had issues getting dates before they were millionaires, and they certainly don't now. You probably won't find any of them on that dating site as they are busy working and living life.

Then there are grandkids of millionaires, or lucky screwups, or guys who made millions but are so screwed up in the head that they can't function in a society on par with ordinary men - whatever the case may be. These folks are used to paying for stuff and it appears. A date with you is something they are willing to pay your site to arrange.

This brings the topic to the web site itself. Obviously the notion of a millionaire dating site is completely, 100% contradictory to the notion of looking for women who aren't interested in their money. Clearly they want to use their money to attract you but don't want you to have designs for it. That's what never marrying (or failing that, a prenup) is for.

I don't think anyone is there to hurt you any more than if you walk into a random bar. The web site mostly wants to use your photos to attract more millionaire clients and take their money - this is what that women is after. You may get a few nice dinners out of it (which is NOT a given - many of the millionaires are surprisingly cheap, so in your questionnaire be sure to put you are interested in somebody who works hard and plays right, rather than some frugal ass loser who'd lecture you about buying cheaper shoes and is hell-bent to die with more money what than he inherited (without ever earning a new dime).

    • I didn't really think about the details about how they got to their money. I mean a lot of people pay to meet someone online, I considered it myself at some point, so I don't think that notion is odd at all.

In their terms and conditions they gurranteed they wouldn't use any pictures for marketing purposes, so they can't do that. I also don't mind paying for my own dinner, I wouldn't expect any other guy to pay for me either. But ya I agree

What Guys Said 22

  • I know some things about this business for reasons I'd rather NOT get into. Let's get some things straight.

    1) You need to understand that this will eventually lead to sex , one way or another.

    2) If your OK with # 1, then you need to understand the business.

    3) You need to understand who is paying whom. Is the agency paying you flat fee or are you collecting money from the client and how are tips handled. When are you getting paid? In short when it comes to the money, who gets what and when do they get it.

    4) You will see guys over 35 no matter what they tell you.

    5) Eventually you may find yourself being asked to engage in sexual acts you are OK with or you'd rather not be involved in; being asked to participate in fetishes and roleplay situations which you are OK with or rather not be involved in; etc.

    6) You may be asked for more than the above which I'd rather not discuss.

I am not judging you or the business, but instead asking how comfortable you are with all of the above which ABSOLUTELY will happen.

    • No I'm not fine with having sex with someone I'm not in a reltionship with. If I ws, then that would be different

I;m not getting any money, she said it was basically a free dating site for me. I do assume the men pay some kind of monthly fee but I'm not sure how much

    • If you believe what this woman said, you are in trouble

  • This reminds me of Millionaire Matchmaker (yes, I'm a guy and watch the show as a guilty pleasure). Although that show sounds way different than this.

Honestly, any millionaire over 35 wanting a female your age is most only going to want to 'date' you so he can spoil you (like a sugar daddy) and most likely want to have sex in return. Once he's fed up or bored, he'll most likely kick you to the curb and move onto the next girl. The reason guys go to these 'clubs' is because it's more safer for them I guess. The clubs most likely do background checks and personality stuff so it'll be easier for the millionaire to get someone through there than pick up some golddigging whore.

If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't go for it. You'll just be perceived in many negative ways. Plus, no way will you find your 'soul mate' through there. These guys are only going to be in it for the sex. In their minds, they're always thinking 'I'm rick and powerful, I can get any attractive bombshell in bed in a heartbeat if I just drop a few thousand dollars on her'. You don't want that. It'll just be demoralizing to you and you'll regret it. Sure you might get a few cute dresses/shoes but in the end, is your self-esteem worth it?

  • You will eventually be tempted into a sexual relationship or many, otherwise dropped from the club. At first, no pressure as everyone needs to find a fit & loose lips are not good for business. Don't expect a marriage offer, that's why the club was invented. Expect tempting gifts that may even include tuition, vacations, lifestyle, et al. to weaken your morals. If really lucky, you might even find some sort of mutual love that can never turn into marriage and sometimes must remain clandestine.

    • I don't think I'll ever be tempted to offer sex for money. It would be my first time to have sex, I wouldn't do that with someone I didn't love for any money in the world.

It's also not like I need any money, I got into college with a full ride, I won't be homless or go hungry anytime soon. I don't expect a marriage offer, obviously. I just thought I may meet someone I like and then maybe someday more grows out of it

    • I hope your dream comes true. Rich men need happiness too, maybe you can serve.

  • This is a polite phrase for 'escort service.' And that's a polite phase for 'brothel.'

They're looking for girls to date older wealthy guys for money, but they want to do this legally. Prositution is illegal most places..so they always look for new words for it!

    • I think it's legal in my state though, I didn't sign a contract or anything and I acutally did read their terms and conditions this time. I don't have to do anything and I'm not going to

    • It would probably be illegal to REQUIRE you to have sex with the guys in writing..but I think you'll find it's understood!

  • It took me a minute to realize the site is for men who want to pretend its not about their money to date young women who want to pretend its not about their looks.

Think about it, millionaires don't need to join some dating site unless there's something off about them.

  • Yeah--milionaire guys don't need to join a millionaire dating agency for normal girls to find a girl who's not into their money--they just need to not talk about it as you point out.

And honestly, why would they want to do that anyway. The whole point of joining a site like that would be to date smoking hot girls, right?

  • Probably guys who are so flawed that their money doesn't make up for it. It may be something as normal as being too old for the women he wants. But it could be something worse.

A rich guy who doesn't have any such big flaws is going to go for a rich girl. It's the year 2013, not 1913 lol. Heck, even back in 1913, many rich guys went for heiresses. Yeah, I doubt anything good will come of this.

    • well I figured why not give it a try, I'm looking for a boyfriend anyways. I got some messages and the men there made it very obvious they want something serious. And ya it does seem odd to me they would join a site like that to find their "soulmate" but what's the worst thing that can happen really?

What Girls Said 3

  • If they were even normal, they could have met people through their friends.

Why else would they register themselves with an agency? They must have some very weird fetishes they want to fulfill with a complete stranger so word doesn't get out because she doesn't know his friends at all. He could secretly be Mr. Grey.

  • "I'm just wondering a bit what kind of man would join a site like that?"

What kind of man would join a site like that? Well obviously (and I think you know this) a guy who's a millionaire who's decent looking and pretty normal and a nice person would be able to get a girl in no time flat without using a dating site.

So there is obviously some REASON for why they can't get a girl otherwise. Which you should be suspicious of.

"She said that those men look for someone who isn't after their money. Well it's a little counter intuitive to join a millionaires dating site then isn't it?"

Of course. But like I said, these men have been unsuccessful with women for one reason or another, and you don't want to waste your time dating a guy only to find out why that is.

Any normal guy (who's smart enough & successful enough to be a millionaire) wouldn't tell the girl right off the bat that he's wealthy unless he's looking to be used. And if he's at least decent looking with no major personality flaws, he sure as hell doesn't need to use a dating site -Like I said earlier.

And if you're a guy on a "millionaire dating site", that's basically saying "hey girls, use me for my money because I can't attract a women with any other quality)

The primary reason wealthy men join a site like that, though, is because they're in their 40s, divorced, and they're looking for a hot younger woman to hook up with or have as a trophy wife. Because usually the kind of women who go on those sites are young and pretty and are looking to be taken care of.
