10 Uplifting Songs

I've put together a short list of songs to inspire and make you feel better.

1. Issues by James Durbin

This song is a reminder that everyone has their problems and you are not alone. In this song, the singer is probably referring to his tourette's and asperger's syndromes, and the difficulties he has faced because of this.

I've got issues, I've got scars
And the color is just like yours
I was broken right from the start
I'm no different than you are
I'm not perfect, I'm perfectly flawed
And my scratches don't hurt much at all
But just like you, I've got issues

2. Hold On by Good Charlotte

Hold on, if you feel like letting go
Hold on, it gets better than you know
Don't stop looking, you're one step closer
Don't stop searching, it's not over
Hold on

3. Sing by My Chemical Romance

Huh, this has a similar message to Taylor Swift's song Shake it Off.

Every time that you lose it sing it for the world
Sing it from the heart
Sing it till you're nuts
Sing it out for the ones that'll hate your guts

4. Someday by Rob Thomas

And maybe someday
We'll figure all this out
Try to put an end to all our doubt
Try to find a way to make things better now and
Maybe someday we'll live our lives out loud
We'll be better off somehow
Someday

5. Be As by Prozzak

Everybody's got somebody telling them what to be

Be as white as you want to
Be as black as you want to
Be as brown as you want to
Don't let anybody stop you

Be as straight as you want to
Be as gay as you want to
You can wait if you want to
We all need something to hold on to

6. Nobody's Accusing You (Of Having a Good Time) by Hot Hot Heat

Some days you're crawling forwards, some days you're spinning backwards
Some days your bullshit detector is turned off, some days a medieval torture test won't even trigger a cough

7. Hate My Life by Theory of a Deadman

You may ask why I included this song because it seems so negative. The reason is that no matter how bad things may seem there is always someone who has it worse. Take a moment of gratitude and count your blessings.

Another reason is that this song can be kind of cathartic. Suppressing your negative emotions can be poisonous; sometimes you just have to let it out - sing along to this.

So if you're pissed like me
Bitches, here's what you gotta do
Put your middle fingers up in the air
Go on and say "Fuck you!"

8. We Are Giants by Lindsey Stirling ft Dia Frampton

Feels like you're standing there so small
Just the space between the stars
Don't be afraid to risk it all
Cause we are we are

We are giants

9. Up We Go by Lights

Everyone here is ready to go
It's been a hard year with nothing to show
From down this road
It's only on we go, on we go
Everyone here is ready to go
It's been a hard year, and I only know
From down this low
It's only up we go, up we go

10. You Can't Believe by James Durbin

You can't believe
What people say about you
You've gotta be
Yourself in your own virtue
You can't believe
What people think about you
You've gotta live
The life that you were born to

What are your go-to inspirational songs? I'm sure I missed better ones than the 10 that I picked.
