What do you think of my latest painting?

My favourite to date... took me about 40-mins from putting up the canvas to the gloss finish. Acrylic paint. But it took me about 4-weeks thinking through on how to get the effect on the waves...
What do you think of my latest painting?

  • Pretty nice, but the waves look like they are breaking out to sea. Might have something to do with the light and shadow play but I don't know...

  • Impressive, I must say, do you paint with any other kind of paint? or just Acrylic I paint with Oils myself, takes a lot longer but the color is much richer and you can get more detail.

  • The waves appear to be moving in toward the rocky shoreline pretty fast. Why aren't they splashing/crashing against the shoreline? It would be one wave front after another creating splash.

    • I had it in my mind that the waves were kind of sucking back off the rocks to crash onto them again, but you have a point... it should have been offset further up...

  • Excellent just like I thought it would be man!

  • Huh? 40 minutes to vanish? It takes like 30 minutes alone to be sort of dry to the touch and like 3 days to several weeks to cure... What you talkin bout willis...

    • Acrylic in Australia... dries faster... spray on varnish

  • I'd buy it.
