What type - slasher, supernatural, creature feature?
The Witch was good, but a slow build up. Very artistic movie but if you aren't in to that, then it'll go too slow for you.
Cabin in the Woods was interesting. Had some kind of funny moments, but not super scary.
30 Days of Night was a good vampire movie.
The Conjuring is a good supernatural movie. As is Insidious.
Seven (Se7en) is a suspenseful psychological horror movie. I liked it a lot.

Salems Lot - about vampires. The sixth sense... a good movie, maybe not so much horror.

I watched a film called regression not long ago and I thought it was ok, not sure if it's a proper horror but it was about satanic cults so it was kind of scary.
