1. They will flirt with your S.O. / Crush

This is a big sign that they will back stab you, and could possibly even go after your crush or SO if given the opportunity. Be attentive to how they act when your man is around.

2. They will "accidentally" share your secrets

If you share a secret with your BFF and the next day 4 other people know, and you certainly didn't tell them- be careful, because you know you can't trust this person with personal info.

3. They seem jealous at your success

Your BFF should be celebrating your promotion at work, not comparing herself to you and trying to make your feel like "it's not a big deal" to make herself feel better.

4. They make comments that put you down, disguising them as jokes

A joke about your weight, or bad choices in men may be funny once or twice. But if it is repeated and aimed to make you feel like your are inferior to her, it's time to open your eyes.

5. They will look out for themselves before you

Little things show a person a lot. If she would put you last to be first, when the both of you could have been happy at second place- watch out.

I used to have an ex "friend" who acted just like this... It was a small, middle school and I didn't click with anyone at that school. In seventh grade, we ended up as "friends" because no one liked us and we got along good at first...

1. In the beginning of eighth grade, there was this new girl who had a crush on me and I didn't like her back because I'm asexual/aromantic. I obviously hated her because she was a hardcore bitch. But he thought I probably liked her back because she's "hot" and she was interested in me but her personality is beyond ugly until this day. So he started to ignore me and tried to make me look bad in front of her.

2. He would say things about me that people generally didn't know just to make me look bad...

3. He was always very jealous of me. He was jealous that I got better grades than him. He was jealous that I was better at sports. He's short and ugly and he envied my looks because I'm tall and handsome. He was very jealous that the girl liked me and paid more attention to me.

5. I don't know what you mean about that one. Everyone looks after themselves before anyone else. He sometimes had my back until the girl came...

I quietly left that school unannounced when the first quarter was over and I transferred to another school to finish up eighth grade... He tried to call my cell phone and I hung up on him. I never spoke to him and I didn't hear of him from that point.

But a few months ago, I think he tried to contact me on Facebook. On Facebook, I don't allow messages from people who aren't my Facebook friends but my brother does. He messaged my brother, "hi, do you remember me?" My brother replied back, "yes, I remember you dumbass" and then my brother blocked him. My brother and I stalked through my ex friend's Facebook page and we found out that he is the deadbeat dad of three kids lol. My ex "friend" and I both have high school degrees but neither of us went to college. I'm financially stable and my life is good but he's broke and his life is so shitty...

I used to have a friend like this, known him since 7th grade. He just kept annoying me with his low self esteem and constantly making fun of me in front of other people to make himself feel better, of course I don't hang with him anymore, but he still keeps freaking calling me to hang out😑

Number 5 is the easiest one to spot. However usually a fake BFF will make you do things and manipulate you with out you knowing. Usually when your asking for advice or talking about a guy that likes you whom your not sure about.

There is a time limit on that, why would you not date a friends ex if that relationship was a high school romance. Why would you not date a friends ex, if that friend is now married.
