Is it pathetic that I feel bad for moving out and leaving my mom alone?

I'm not moved out yet and I'm definitely moving out next year but i feel bad for my mom. I'm her youngest kid so when I leave, its gonna be just her and she's gonna be alone. I feel its sad to wake up and be alone everyday, ya know? I'm sure when I leave part of her will go "Thank god" lmao. but still.
Does this make me a pathetic mamas boy or something? lol

The reason I want to move out so soon is because i can't stand living in this apartment building anymore. The walls are paper thin so I feel i get no privacy, It's not big enough, The neighbors are nosy and annoying, And its in the middle of nowehere. I keep asking my mom if we could move and she says "maybe" and then we never do. So I just have to go, i can't be here any longer. Plus there is someone i want to move in with

Not necessarily.

In some countries (like mine... traditionally, at least), it's the norm to move out... when you get married... or (like my aunt) actually have a multi-generational household. (In some societies, the more generations under one roof, the better.) In fact, in my culture, it is the youngest's duty to stay and take care of the parents as they grow older. In return, it is the youngest who inherits all their worldly possessions as a little, final "thank you" so to speak.

You're not pathetic. It's understandable that you feel a little down about moving out, but you need to realize that regardless if you move or not... your mom will always be there for you, so don't feel bad. .

No way. It makes you extremely kind and caring. Also, yes it will make her really sad... can you not stay with her and just help her pay the bills? That's what I do with my parents and I am 25 haha

Not at all, I'm 24 and I still live at home (this is normal for Italians). My dad passed when I was young so I do pretty much everything around the house. Leaving her to do it all would make me feel bad too.

Anyone who doesn't understand why we would feel bad or thinks it's pathetic doesn't understand the importance of family.

I didn't want to leave my mom alone either once my dad passed. Girls will say it's nice, but they would still hold it against you and not want to date you if you stay.
