Is a boyfriend more important than a best friend?

Okay, my best friend is dating this guy who's 15. she's been dating him for a week now. so tomorrow we are supposed to go to knoebles together- we have been planning this since early may! and it was a def. yes. then this boyfriend comes along and I asked her if she was ready for tomorrow and when we could meet today so she could sleepover and we could go to knoebles the next day. and she's like "oh yeah, about that I can't because I'm gonna spend time with (her boyfriend)-she was gonna hang out with him cause his birthday is the next day."

and I'm like oh, but you promised and we had this planned before you even knew your boyfriend. and she's like well you know what he's more important than you. maybe if you werent obsessed with me you would get over it.

this really hurt me. is she right? am I obsessed. am I less important than a boy she's going out with and its right for her to hang out with her boyfriend.(she hangs out with him everyday)

or am I right. is that ignorant of her to break our plans for a kid that's gonna dump her in the next couple months?

or should I just stop being friends with her?

AND-me and her have been bestfriends since last august. so its been awhile. I just miss her and want her back/ : I haven't seen her in 3 weeks. ) : please tell me the truth.

You're in the age range where people are really fickle and flaky. You're friend does want to go with you, and is upset that she can't because she feels obligated to prioritize this boyfriend over everything else. Unfortunately this is a very typical high school dilemma.

See if another friend will go with you. This situation is going to play out the way that it will, and it is probably best that you distance yourself from this girl since she is being ugly about it.

Judging from how hurt you are, you are someone who has very mature feelings and ideals regarding friends, respect, and loyalty. And you are to feel commended for that. What you should know is that not many people in your age group have those same values, nor will many form them for years to come.

As time continues, try to pick your friends for the values they have instead of common interests. You'll find that this is a much better way to associate with people, and you'll have less stress and less of these kinds of situations.

I think that's total bs she shouldn't have ditched you for her boyfriend, if you are her best friend then she shoulda just told him that she was busy. she has only been going out with him for a week and it doesn't seem like he needs the attention, so idk. try talking to her about it and tell her how you feel and what you think about it, if she still doesn't see your point you should prob get a new best friend or even friend.

omg. she is totally not right! you do not need her in her life. I hate those girls who ditch their friends for their boyfriend... you have had set plans and that was very rude of her to say "oh sorry I'm hanging with my bf" and even worst she didn't even tell you the plans were off. you have every right to be mad at her. you need to talk to her. its not fair for her to do that. and you are right when they break up she isn't going to have anyone..

try and get another friend to go with you.. and don't think about what fun you would be having with her.. think of all the fun with someone else! :)

just b.c its his birthday the following day doesn't mean you need to cancel plans with your best friend, most likely she will be seeing him for his bday and if she doesnt.. oh well you have hung out every single day.. and they have only been together for 3 weeks.. that's not right

From what you said in this, you didn't do anything wrong. I've been in your friend's shoes so I thought I was going to be able to give you an insight into her head. I can't! Your so called friend took that too far! To cancel plans is bad, to cancel a plan you've had that long is horrible. And for such a stupid reason! You deserve better friends! Don't worry about her, she doesn't even deserve your thoughts.
