Does he think I've friend-zoned him?

I got to know this guy whom I have always known but was never good friends with. We recently coincidentally got to hang out and it was the most fun I've had in a long time with a guy who wasn't a close friend. Even though we danced together, we didn't grind, and even though we went to his place, he didn't ask me to go into his room.

I am interested in him now, but I don't want to come off too interested. In one of my texts, I wrote "haha ttyl my cool new friend (:" and then in another, I said "you are a lot like my best guy friend from back home". Our texts have stopped..but that may also be because he has a midterm coming up.

It may be nothing, and I am over thinking it, but do you think that by calling a guy a friend too many times, he will think I'm putting him in the friend zone? (I actually do that when I am trying to tell a guy I'm not interested in him in that way, except this time, I didn't mean it that way)

When I'm pursuing a woman, I don't like being called a buddy, friend, etc.

When that happens, I generally don't waste much more time on the person of "interest" and go ahead and put them in the friend zone myself.

I'm not trying to give you an idea of what might be going on in YOUR situation but just giving you an idea of what goes on in a guy's (my) head.

Jup, you probably made a big mistake calling him a friend that often. What were you thinking? Only way to fix things is telling him you like him as more than a friend.

Yup. He probably thinks you've put him in the friend zone.
