If a guy tries to set you up with a friend is there no chance he likes you?

So there is this guy that I work with and lately we've become pretty close. It seems like we're friends now. I thought he seemed like he was in to me because we would text occasionally, flirt and be touchy at work, and he asked me out a few times to hang with his friends. I was getting vibes that he liked me and even all my friends said that he seemed liked he likes me. Then there was this incident where he asked me out one day but I couldn't go because I already had plans.

Later that day I ended up running in to him and his friends and he seemed dead set on settin me up with this one friend of his who apparently wanted to hook up with me. I told him that I was not hooking up with his friend. He was acting awkward after that about the whole situation of setting me up with his friend. What I want to know is if he was never really comfortable setting me up with his friend why would even bother trying? He knew I wouldn't want to hook up with this guy! If a guy tries to set you up with their friend is there no chance that he likes you? I was pretty sure he liked me until this whole incident...

i don't think his setting you up means there is no chance he doesn't like you. perhaps it was a sort of test to see if you would go for another guy, or perhaps the friend just expressed an interest in you and being his friend he figured he'd ask (perhaps even knowing that you would refuse).

I think if you are into him you should say something to him about it. Perhaps be like "no I wouldn't hook up with your friend cause I like someone else (wink)". I don't know but rather sort of float around in this undefined territory try to figure out exactly where you stand with him

He might like you but since you kept saying no to his intivations out he might think you don't like him so he just gave up and to help get over It he was going to set you up with his friend. Ask him to hang out and find out if he does have feels for you or even say that you have feelings for him

I set up a guy I liked with another girls once, because he didn't seem interested in me and I wanted him to be happy (the set up didn't work...)

i would think so if he tries to get me to be with a guy I would never think he was into me or putting me in a test, becasue you will have to say yes.
