Did he touch me on purpose or was it an accident?

Guys, when you're sitting next to a girl, do you try your best to make sure you give her enough space so your elbow don't touch her etc. Whether you are good friends or are just acquaintances. Assuming there's enough space at that table because we are both slender afterall and the reason we're sitting next to each other instead of across is because we have another friend with us on the other side of the table.

My friend's elbow sometimes touches my arm when we are eating next to each other. I'm not sure if he does it on purpose or not. We are good friends so I don't mind but I am curious because I don't get that from other male friends. They keep within their space.

There was a time we were walking closely together by the roadside to get to our cars and he cutely pokes me and elbows me a lot and then tells me a story about doing this to his brother while they were watching TV. He was telling me when his brother asked him WTH is he doing, he just answered he felt like bugging someone and he happen to be sitting next to him. lol. Do you think he purposely did that to me to touch me? Not saying it's a lame excuse but do guys generally find ways to touch a girl and come up with something like this?

Rewind back a few months ago, if my hand accidentally touched him, he'd say something outrageous like I touched him on purpose, that I'd want to tap that. lol. So I've been very careful to make sure I keep within my space despite knowing he was joking. He doesn't say anything anymore if we happen to 'accidentally' touch each other. lol. We are close so it's hard for me to tell if he's interested in me as more than friends or is just comfortable with me.
