Guys complain about this all the time. But what about when a guy shaves his facial hair? When a guy has a beard he looks completely different to when he doesn't so that to me is false advertisement when they shave it off.
Sounds silly doesn't it? Well that's how guys sound to me when they complain they can't trust a girl if she wears make up.
I agree. Another thing to consider is that if all women were just bare faced, there would be complaints of: "Oh, I like women who put themselves together, not slobs." That's why I find it silly. Don't get me wrong, I can see how some people can really use makeup to change their face, but keep in mind always that makeup is no one's natural state of being.
@Jager66 Sure it is. When a man has a full beard they appear more manly, more attractive to some women, and when they shave it all of hell - they don't even look like the same person. Some look like a 15 year old boy. You say that the point of makeup is to hide a woman's flaws. Men do the same when they decide to grow out a beard. Maybe to hide the fact that he has a weak chin? Probably his facial features aren't that attractive or his features are a bit feminine. False advertisement. Men alter the appearance whether it's growing out a beard or shaving it. So think twice before you go around shaming women for wearing makeup.
We are not applying any 'external substances' to our body to 'hide' anything. We just do 'modifications' & 'changes' to our natural looks. There is vast difference. It'd be same like "Why do guys even bath then?"
By attacking our integrity, you cannot prove yourself right. See the hate (downvotes)? It will make you sound unwise/imprudent. While stating your views intending to persuade someone, you should show some love and respect so that people'd better understand and like to adopt your lifestyle.
It would be way better to just say, "we like make-up because if makes us feel better. There's is no deception in it". It will keep your support without any diatribe.
Have a nice day, girl :)

The pictures you have posted prove the opposite of what you are trying to prove. Those two girls with make up on do not look anything like who they are in the pics with no make up. The guy who wakes up in the morning next to her , without her make up on, will jump out of bed in panc, , looking around for the girl he lay next to the night before. He will think it is another girl. He won't recognize her
At least with a cheeseburger you know exactly what it is when you see it , it may not be as perfect as advertised but i sure know it ain't anything other than a cheesebuger. I can't mistake it's identity
Unless the guy is fucking retarded he will be able to tell who the girl in bed with him is. No one is stupid enough to think a girl naturally has green eyelids or a black smokey eye. Regardless of how different they look with and without their makeup on, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that it is still the same person. Also those photos are of girls who have a lot of makeup on (not that I think it's a bad thing) but most girls don't cake it on and therefore the way they look without their makeup isn't as dramatic as how the girls in the pictures look. Also said something about how at least with a cheeseburger you know exactly what it is when you see it, well with a girl you also know exactly what it is when you see 'it', a girl. She might not be as perfect as advertised but 'it' sure it isn't anything other than a girl, there's no mistaking HER identity.
I was being sarcatic, to prove a point Don't be so serious hun. I stand by my opinion regardless of your anger ourburt. You are 16, so i guess it could be your immaturity though!
Soooo, if a guy wears platform shoes to boost his height to be above yours, and those shirts that you can put on that makes it look like you have abs underneath and pushes your chest up
are you saying these things are NOT false advertising as well? cus they're pretty much the same thing.
Also depends if he's honest about it; if you ask a girl who wears a lot of makeup, she will likely tell you - if she lies, then yes she is being false. But if she tells you she wears makeup/a lot makeup, it isn't "false advertising." If a guy with fake abs tells me they're real, he's being false.
I highly doubt a guy would even mention they're real to avoid any possibility of having to reveal, so if it's never mentioned it isn't false advertising?
If he's wearing shoes that increase his height half a foot to a foot, and then you find out you're infact taller, that wouldn't be a little upsetting?
Why does it matter how easy something is to spot? it's not like i can tell what you look like without makeup no matter how obvious it is that you're wearing it
But this is my point: you have to get to know somebody first. It also does matter how easy it is to spot: if you see someone wearing a full face of makeup, it's very easy to assume they aren't going to look the same when it's gone. Wearing fake muscles and height-enhancing shoes that are intended to be hidden is something you cannot spot and assume will alter the person's appearance once it's gone.
If a girl say wears butt and breast enhancers, I would consider that "lying about one's appearance", if you will, because it isn't clear. But makeup, which essentially is face paint, is obvious. It's like seeing someone with pink hair; it looks great, but you know it isn't natural.
I don't think it's false advertising because, once again, it's typically clear. I also don't consider it false advertising because I don't feel like women who wear makeup are necessarily advertising. Which is why I mock the whole idea in my take that women are products to be advertised.
I feel like women are because the're hiding their imperfections. I can agree that they might not be advertising their self technically and only wear it for own reasons and to look more appealing but for the women that are looming to a relationship I would call it false advertising. Or even if girls aren't when finds them attractive and let's say they start dating or even get maried that person hasn't seen their true face and their true self. Kind of like a push up bra.
You're entitled to feel that way but I still don't agree. Technically, any alteration you make to your appearance would be false advertising given that logic: dying your hair, styling your hair, shaving, wearing a bra period, wearing deorderant. Basically, to show all of ourselves we would have to stand there completely naked with zero alteration to ourselves of any form.
I think you need to understand that everyone has the right to the whatever they want. Just because you are against makeup, it doesn't make you better or superior than girls who like makeup. It's like saying that men should shave their beards because it's hiding their face, or maybe they lack a strong jawline? Stop makeup shaming, it's getting so old.. like, just respect. Thanks.
Yes I did read it. ''I recognize that these girls are presenting themselves in a way that isn’t natural – but that’s ALL MAKEUP.'' That's shaming. It's like you're shaming girls who wear it and trying to make them feel bad for doing it, that's not right. Majority of my friends are really beautiful facially, and when they take off their makeup they still look stunning. If you're average and makeup doesn't work for you, don't blame it on the product that can make a lot of people gain self esteem.
I'm not shaming anybody. Makeup isnt't natural, that's a fact. I support anybody who wants to present themselves in any fashion and would defend anybody being targeted based solely on appearances. I see no issue with somebody wanting to wear makeup and I support that people do what makes them happy. Just because YOU think it's "like shaming girls for wearing makeup" doesn't at all mean that's what I'm doing. I am just stating that when you apply synthetic products to your face it is not your natural appearance. That doesn't make them fake, that doesn't make them ugly, it just means that makeup isn't biologically natural.
there's a differeence between wearing a little makeup and changing your whole bone structure. i wear a little concealer to cover up some spots that i will be getting cleared up soon and a light BB cream along with mascara and a little blush. i look the same without it. it just covers the spots. then there are women who COMPLETELY change their whole look and that to me is false advertising if they are doing it for male attention.

"Change my mind if you can." A little rude
i'm not interested on change your mind (i don't matter, i don't need to do it). I Think is a little exaggerated say that the girl is not the same person that i fall in love when removes his makeup 'cos the makeup don't make the girl like the clothes don't make the man.
when a disabled person takes off his prosthesis is someone else?
with all due respect but I think it's shallow, immature and exaggerated
each head is a world so you can continue thinking whatever you want because:
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it. -Voltaire
You do realize the person who made this post and you are on the same side right? This is a quote taken from the take ' I can say for certain that I am of the mindset that makeup – regardless of how drastic – is NOT false advertisement. In this take, I am going to explain why I am of that mentality.'
Doesn't matter what terminology is used , when the make up comes off and I don't like what is underneath I'm within my rights to walk away. I don't understand anger unless it was perceived that the idea was to somehow trick the guy. Like a guy taking out a personal loan and seeming richer than he is by taking women on fancy dates. Those women are within their rights to walk away when they find out what is reality.
While I agree anyone is within their rights to walk away wouldn't you think a woman who walks away after finding out a guy wasn't rich was simply after the money because it mattered so much she left him when she figured out he didn't have the money she thought he did. It's the same as how a man can be considered superficial and only interested in looks if he decides to walk away after seeing what the girl looks like when the makeup comes off. I understand a huge part of attraction is how someone looks but if you really like someone it is completely superficial to 'walk away' from them just because they look different (a little less appealing) without makeup on.
I mean, contouring of the nose and face can make a person look very different, and on top of foundation and a beautifully tight lined eye, yeah, some people may feel deceived... but oh well. Make up is make up. These women are pretty, they are just enhancing what they have or manipulating things to better fit current beauty standards.
I don't think I ever met anyone who seemed completely different without make up though my personal preference was always light make up but if it was a dealbreaker for me I would worry more about myself than the girl hopefully appearance is an initial factor for me but other things like personality become the dealbreakers.
I agree to an extent. I think most girls should be confident with their looks. However, if a girl decides to put on a little lipstick because it accentuates her porcelain skin or put on a little blush so there is more life and shape to her cheekbones then go for it. Make up applied to your entire face should be done on special occasions but that's just me.
I personally hate contouring and highlighting it completely changes the face when done heavy. So yes that's false advertisement. I'd get mad if a man where to appear to have something but it was an illusion. Its not about liking what's inside or being immature its a bout expecting what your looking at not to look too different behind closed door.
No, makeup is not a false advertisement but I think women that look great with no makeup are better than ones that need it to look great. Push up bras are definitely false advertising because once the bra comes off in front of a guy, he's going to know that they aren't exactly what he thought.
I agree with the first part but not with the second; it's physically impossible without implants for your boobs to look the way they do in push up bras. Most boobs are naturally tear-shaped, and due to gravity (basic laws of physics and such) no one should expect your boobs to be naturally that high up and pushes together. Come on people, anatomy!
Please don't commodify dating like that, comparing women to products. That's one of the main things that screw up dating today - the fact that it's so commodified and many people don't tend to view dates as people.
The people IRL who can do these extreme makeovers on their own are pretty few and far between. Most people look fairly similar with and without makeup. Personally, I'd say the first girl is an example more of how a small difference in hairstyle can completely change how you're perceived.

Great Take. I've never thought make up was false advertising. Because the bottom line is, you shouldn't be wanting a relationship with someone for the way they look!!! Only about 20-30% I guess. One night stands and hook ups, I suppose. Then who cares if she doesn't look the same? You don't have to see her again lol.
And @neoagent1 your opinion reminded me of this video.
These women are both pretty with/without makeup. These are very mild cases. Some women do contouring so when they take it off, they look anywhere from a different ethnicity to a different face shape. Light makeup is always more suitable.

You are correct. I confused push up with waterbras and any other bras that make your cup size look bigger while it's on.
Water bras I 100% understand.
In the first picture, I like the girl on the left. She's naturally pretty. wife type pretty
I agree with you, she's lovely.
I think she's a porn star hahahah
Wife type pretty?
I agree. If guys think lots of makeup is false advertising, nothing is stopping them from only dating girls who go for the natural look
Please don't commodify dating like that, comparing women to products. That's one of the main things that screw up dating today - the fact that it's so commodified and many people don't tend to view dates as people.
It was written in a fashion that was meant to be entirely sarcastic, not literal.

Whoa, I think you jumped the shark there.
It was an exaggerated hypothetical situation.
