1.) Hugo Boss

One of the more popular clothing brands actually originated in Germany during 1924, it would cause controversy when it would supply the Nazi party with it's uniforms, after the war, the founder named Hugo Boss was fined $70,553 for collaborating with the Nazis. He was prohibited from running his company and he died in 1948. His son in law would continue to run the Hugo Boss company and instead of uniforms the company started to make formal clothing.

2.) Hot Topic

This store was founded in 1988, you can say that it's still pretty new. It's known for having a gothic theme and selling skinny jeans. What many people don't know is that it went through various phases. Before it's focus on Skinny jeans, it sold a lot of "bondage pants". After these types of pants phased out of "Punk" and "Goth" fashion, Skinny jeans became hot topics focus.

3.) Volcom

Everyone that shops there knows that it has a boarding sports theme and it sells jeans. The store was founded here in California in 1991 after the founders went snowboarding. Since their number of stores are few, it's best to shop on their online from their website. Some of their clothing is also sold by various other stores including Pacsun and Zumiez.

4.) Adidas

The famous shoe brand originated in Germany in 1924. It was founded by a man named Adolf Dassler. The name Adidas is a reference to Adolf Dassler. "Adi" is a shorter version of Adolf while "Das" is is a shorter version of the Dassler last name, hence the name Adidas. It was originally called "Dassler Schuhfabrik" it was later changed to Addidas.

5.) Puma

It was founded in Germany in 1948 by Rudolf Dassler(Adolf Dassler's older brother). The company was originally called "Ruda" before it was changed to Puma. Both Rudolf and Adolf Dassler became rivals. An interesting side note is that both Adolf and Rudolf Dassler joined the Nazi party. It's said that Rudolf was the more fanatic Nazi. When WWII started they were both drafted into the Wehrmacht(German army). After WWII the two Dassler brother's continued their rivalry.

6.) Arena

A swimwear brand that was founded in 1973 by Horst Dassler(Adolf Dassler's son).

7.) Descente

A Japanese brand that sells sportswear. It's mostly known for its production of winter sportswear. Various winter sports athletes wear Descente products.

8.) Edwin

A Japanese clothing that was founded in 1969 that sells mostly Jeans, Edwin Jeans are sold in Europe as well. It's said that this was the first company that started using the "Old wash" style for their jeans.

9.) Hollister Co

Although it says "California" underneath it's name, it actually originated in Ohio. It's a rather new store since it was founded in 2000. Hollister is owned by "Abercrombie and Fitch" and it's popular worldwide.

10.) Levi's

Everyone knows that Levi's produced the first Jeans in 1871. A lot of people mistake Levi Strauss as the sole inventor of jeans, Jacob Davis was the man that is credited with creating the modern jeans after he came up with the basis for modern jeans and partnered with Levi Strauss. The first people to wear them would be workers, it's wasn't till the 1950's when Jeans were incorporated into fashion.

11.) Calvin Klein

It was founded in 1968 by a man named Calvin Klein, it was originally a coat shop but it continued to add different clothing.
