5 Top Fashion Tips for Guys!

I know this might be weird coming from a girl, but since most guys complain that women have more choice in clothing and can be more stylish, I assume we're the perfect person to help.

I actually really like male fashion and its 'simplicity', it provides you with so many options to do something new!

So to all guys out there that aren't sure where to start, how to dress or want to check off some things, you might find this valuable.

5 Top Fashion Tips for Guys!

1. Create a base

Creating a basic closet should be a first for everyone in my opinion. This base should consist of certain pieces listed below:

-multiple jeans/pants. Good jeans are a must. You should have a pair of black jeans, always, in my opinion. Maybe even more than one. At least two other pairs.

-neat trousers. One or two of these should do.

-a suit. You can buy a full suit or mix one of your pairs of trousers with a blouse, a tie/bow tie and a jacket.

-sweaters. Especially since it's winter, sweaters are a must and can be very basic. Match them with a blouse underneath and you've got the top of your outfit!

-shirts. Obvious one, you should have some shirts that are ONE color and aren't graphic. I like v-necks on guys but roundnecks are also nice. Black, white, grey, blue are some neutral colors, but all colors are good really.

-shoes. I recommend one pair of dress shoes, two/one pair(s) of sneakers, and maybe some "high" shoes.

-jackets. A winter jacket, a fall jacket, a summer/spring jacket.

2. Layer!

Working with layers is easy and stylish. Adding a sweater over a blouse or a jacket over a shirt will make you look a lot more put together then when you just wear a hoodie. (Even though that is a good option too when you're feeling lazy)

3. Accessorizing is important too

Making sure you add a watch or sunglasses to an outfit immediatly makes you seem more mature and self-assured. I don't know why, but it seems like all people that wear accessories know they look that way.

Don't wear bracelets or necklaces though, it's ultimately still your choice you you obviously can- but you will look like a surfer dude/stereotypical from the hood.

4. Have nice hair & skin if you can

Having a decent haircut that matches your face is 30% of the outfit. Go to a hairdresser and ask him/her what cut would suit you. Try it. Play around with it a little, learn to be okay with enjoying haircare!

Having nice skin isn't for everyone (looking at you, puberty and bad genes), but you can do your best to make it look better. Most guys write off washing their faces and moisturizing them, yet that is the best thing you could do for your face.

5. Keep track of the trends

You don't have to follow them, but you can get a lot of inspiration from them! There's a lot of stylish guys out there, and some female trends apply to their male counterparts as well.

Other than these, I have some examples of stylish guys (to me)
