My Review on African Black Soap

I first bought African black soap at an open air market in New Orleans. I was looking for a good skin cleanser and since natural products always worked better for me, I got it. I paid $10 for one container that weighed 8 oz. I kind of cringed at the price. But it has lasted me a really long time and I dont see myself running out for a long time, so the price was extremely reasonable.

How to use African black soap:
You basically use it like a soap amd remember that a little goes a long ways. I get a clean towel. Get the towel wet and then get my face wet. After that I get some soap on it and then gently wash my face. Do this gently and don't let it stay on your face for 15-20 seconds. I let it stay on my face long enough for me to rinse the soap out of the towel. After it's been rinsed out, I wash the soap off my face and pat dry.

Personal routine that I swear by:
Tie hair all the way back. Use African black soap like how I said above and pat dry. Rub shea butter on my skin. Rub five drops of radha rosehip oil on my face. Shea butter and radha oil take a long time to dry so I only do this at night. The only time I'll do this in the morning is if I'm not planning on leaving the house or if I'm not planning on wearing makeup that day.

African black soap dries out your skin so you need a good moisturizer. But that's why it's amazing for oily skin. But it also helps dry skin. Plus because it brings everything to the top, your skin is going to get worse before it gets better. It also helps people with eczema and psoriasis.

My official review: I tried every skin cleanser you can possibly think of. I've spent a ton of money on using clinique, proactiv, neutrogena, and other products that are supposed to work. When I was in high school, I turned to natural methods like made at home facials. That saved my teen years. I don't have time or the patience to do a facial so this is a better option. To pit it simply: this stuff is amazing. I just wish I found it a lot earlier. I can't wait to see what my skin looks like six months from now because I've already seen a difference.

No kidding, I just bought some for the first time 4 days ago after listening to a youtuber go on about it. I rolled my eyes at first because how many products do people rave about and they don't work like they describe, but I went online to read some further and more unbiased reviews without any sponsorship, and it's like everyone is talking and raving about it, but I'd never heard about it. I bought some at a local store, but I think it was the more manufactured commercial stuff, so I bought the real thing online. Even with the commercial stuff, my skin feels amazing and soft and super clean. We'll see if results can improve with the real stuff when it arrives.

The upfront price was a little much. However, I use so little of it that it was extremely reasonable. I've used it twice a day, but looking at my supply it looks barely touched.

There's actually a lot of product many black people use that are natural and beneficial for hair and body, but people usually put it to the side until it becomes mainstream because black people were the first to use it so they assume it's meant to work only for black people. I've introduced some of my non-black friends to things that I've been using for years and they're hooked on it because of how well it works. One of my friends even got rid of a big bald spot he was developing because he decided to try out some of the things I recommended him.

The funny thing is that I've never tried it and we have this everywhere back in Nigeria (West Africa), because my skin is so sensitive I avoid using overly natural products. Very good take though! 👍🏾

Why are you giving a review on something that has been around for ages, especially in the black community? Plus, there's also a difference between real African black soap and the fake stuff you see put into black bars.

It was the first time I'd ever heard of it. I've been trying to use more natural stuff for my hair and skin. That includes stuff like henna. Natural products aren't advertised nearly as much as other products. I don't use the one in the picture. Mine is 100% pure African black soap. It was the only good picture I find.

I'm assuming she's never tried it and wasn't aware it was popular , like many who haven't grew up using it or have had family members use it. Its just a review on her take of it for anyone else curious on how it works.

Take a deep breath. No one on the planet knows everything. She's writing a review to inform others of the soap and her experience with it. There's nothing wrong with that at all. There's simply so much in this world that's been around that people have never heard of, but knowledge is power and now a few more people know, and I'm sure they'll be better for it.

I seen one at walmart, but got the cocoa and Shea butter kind instead with little hard pieces throughout, makes your body smooth
