Poem competition anyone?

Put your own poems below and I will decide who wins looking at comments from other people and my own opinion

I will put a poem but it is not part of the competition, just a kind of show of minimum quality (lol it's not very good don't worry)

Yes I did write it myself and it's nowhere near my best but I promised my girlfriend I would not tell anyone some of my best ones, I do have more you can have on request though :)

"Lucky Me" By SparTom 007

I'm in love, lucky me

I found a girl she's called Ellie

She's smart, she's funny, she's all mine

She took my hand and I felt fine

I think of her everyday

She makes my worries go away

I found her and I knew

I saw her pretty eyes of blue

I saw her lovely golden hair

I couldn't help but stop and stare

I saw her and she saw me

She loves me back hopefully

There's no one else I do prefer

Lucky me to have found her

  • I like this poem:

Put on my blue suede shoes

    And I boarded the plane

Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues

In the middle of the pouring rain

W.C. Handy -- won't you look down over me

Yeah I got a first class ticket

But I'm as blue as a boy can be

    Then I'm walking in Memphis

Walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale

    Walking in Memphis

But do I really feel the way I feel

    Saw the ghost of Elvis

    On Union Avenue

Followed him up to the gates of Graceland

Then I watched him walk right through

Now security they did not see him

They just hovered 'round his tomb

But there's a pretty little thing

    Waiting for the King

    Down in the Jungle Room

They've got catfish on the table

They've got gospel in the air

And Reverend Green be glad to see you

When you haven't got a prayer

But boy you've got a prayer in Memphis

    Now Muriel plays piano

    Every Friday at the Hollywood

And they brought me down to see her

And they asked me if I would --

    Do a little number

And I sang with all my might

    And she said --

"Tell me are you a Christian child?"

    And I said "Ma'am I am tonight"

Put on my blue suede shoes

    And I boarded the plane

Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues

In the middle of the pouring rain

Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues

In the middle of the pouring rain

What Girls Said 1

  • beneath the darkened burnt black sky

    a mother sings her lullaby

    a child slowly drifts away

    unaware of each passing day

    when did our innocence die?

scream, shout, let out a cry.

what we once knew is gone forever

can we find the way back? no. never.

What Guys Said 2

  • At Arms Length

You keep the world at arms length

    Close enough to touch

Yet not so much to feel

    A true display of strength

    Let me be the one

To share, to keep the world at bay

    Let me be the one

To care, and shield you from the day

You keep me at arms length

    Close enough to touch

Yet not so much no feel

    A true display of strength

    I can be the one

To trust, to break your walls down

    I can be the one

To lust, and take you to town

You keep the world at arms length

    Close enough to touch

Yet not so much to feel

    A true display of strength

    I won't be the one

To hurt, to let you in

    I can't be the one

To flirt, then have you keep me

    At arms length

  • Surely, I said,

    to myself when we wed,

I shall love and respect, ne'er abuse her,

    yet, soon after, she spoke,

as she tossed off the yoke,

saying "Palek, my dear, you're a loser"

HOW DO YA LIKE ME NOW?
