Why do all the superheroes wear underpants on the outside?
I think the entertainment industry has accepted them and somewhat made it clear to society that you'll only look good in them if you're a superhero.

pastorchrisjordan.files.wordpress.com/.../...n.jpg It goes back to the old days of Flash Gordon and Superman in 1930s. Their costumes were based on old circus strongmen and aerial performers. It's not really supposed to be underwear, but tight, underwear-like shorts over their leggings. As to why it still continues - tradition, I suppose.
