I think it's the first time I get so many negative opinions from girls. :)
Blonde highlights on dark haired guys?
I think a lot of the negative votes come from people who think it looks dated. Highlights on dark hair can very easily turn out to look like 1990's "frosted tips." Do what makes your comfortable, though. If you're interested in highlights: go for it.
Jonathan Scott from the TV show "Property Brothers" does it nicely and cleanly. They aren't just bleached ends, there is variation and different shades that complement the dark hair color.

It would be better if the highlights are closer to his natural hair color instead of them being blonde.

If you can pull that look off then go for it but it's a Nah for me.
I can barely like them on girls so how would I find them good on guys? But since you brought Cr7 here I would say the are ok on him
