  • uuuh i made a history-presentation about women shoes a few months ago... but i think the name was formed when that kind of shoe was getting more and more popular during the 20th century... It was reintroduced as a normal, casual women shoe since it was worn mainly by men in the 17th/18th century... i think it was also used as a shoe for riding horses originally... not sure tho

    • don't know why, but that kind of shoe was called something like "opera shoe" or "court shoe" earlier... so it might be the designer who introduced it, or the brand wicth introduced it... gonna look into it now... i am intested as well
