I do not understand why people say that to me. At school, on the streets and on the internet sometimes.

Goth, emo, punk. . . there are all forms of rebellious dress, hairstyles, and behavior. . . that appeal to young people who are insecure in their identities and are desperately in search of something that will give them a sense of belonging and identity. In the 1950's, kids became beatniks. In the 1960's and 70's, they became hippies. There is nothing new here, except that beatniks and hippies did not put metal things through their nose or genitals.3
