It's just personal style. Honestly, I think it looks horrible. You should buy clothes that fit you. I bought all that stuff when I was young, and now I realize all it really does is take away from a nice natural physique if you have one. You look like you have droopy shoulders and small arms. If you wear baggy shorts they make your calves look really small.
Some guys can pull it off, I just find that most women find a guy wearing clothes that fit to be sexier.
I went from baggy ecko cargos, hoodies, and t-shirts to low rise diesels, tapered t-shirts, patterend oxfords, and buffalo/BR/CK sweaters, polos and rugby shirts.and I definitely started getting more female attention.
With that said, you definitely want to pick a style that works for you. Like I said, some guys can actually pull the baggy look off, but I think every guy needs at least something in his wardrobe that actually fits. Guys who go to clubs in baggy t's and cargo shorts with skate runners look like they lost their way and ended up crashing the party uninvited.

I'm definitely not into dressing like that and never was. I just don't see what girls would like about a boy dressing in such baggy clothes that he might trip on his pants or they look like they'll be faling off him or they're way too big a size. I just never cared for that look and I think guys that dress like that haven't grown up yet, have low maturity levels or are trying to show their independence by proving they can dress however stupid they want.
I don't particularly like that look either. For me, its sloppy looking.
As for WHY people wear such things, they most likely have idols who dress in such a way, so they do the same. In this case, rap and hip/hop artists. Everyone has their idols they look up to and want to look like because they think they are "cool" in some way, so they want to embody that image. Like I said, that wouldn't be my type of style, but hey if they like it, they should do that.
In any case, I think showing up to school looking like you are in your older brothers clothes is lame and they should try to buy clothes that fit, but again, if it is the style they like, although it may not be to our taste, they should do what ever the hell makes them happy.
I think its the comfort level. Everybody is different, while some people may not like baggy clothes - other people might love them! Personally though, I am not a fan of the "baggy-lood". I like a guy to dress according to thier size - not too tight and not too baggy. It just tells a lot about the other person especailly thier confidence.
But, if a guy feels comfortable in baggy clothes, not the best reason to not like them.
I really don't understand that either. I went to high school with guys who dressed like that, and I never even thought about it at the time. It's just a style--different strokes for different folks.
By the way, I'm from Connecticut too and I'm kind of surprised to hear that guys in Shelton dress like that. I mean, I only know a few people from Shelton, but their clothes fit lol
I never understood that either, I think it looks horrible.
Well it's the current style some places, and people will follow pretty much any style to be 'in', no matter how dumb it actually is.
I heard the original concept came from the street life - jail, etc., not eating enough so their clothes are baggy. I don't know though.

To each his own , but I'm more into the grown and ''sexy'' look some guys have recently been getting into. It says a lot about a guy who can graduate from being a boy into manhood .
obviously they are ashamed of their bodies & want to hide them!
Just their style. Plus it's more comfortable.
