My boyfriend won't want me getting piercings?

Okay well I have talked to my boyfriend of me getting my belly button pierced and tongue but he gets mad when I talk about it. he says that its all garbage and that I don't need it. he won't let me get it, what would be a good reason to say. I said I want to show people what I like. but he says oh don't ruin your life with that, so like I don't know what to do? help?

ok look...my ex hated it when I would go get my tattoos done, I also have my labret (the small thing under your bottom lip), tongue, and belly button pierced. he would freak...but he'd come around. ultimately, its your body. if there's something you want to do with it, don't let someone else's opinion become your own. and I'm sure there are awesome aspects to your relationship, and I'm sure he just likes you the way you are...but its your body, you're an adult, make your own decisions and if he does something stupid like dumping you over it...do you really want to be with someone like that anyway?

I have mine pierced, but I've had it for so long I don't have to leave it in all the time. ultimately if he can come around to the idea and be ok with it, that's awesome. but even if he doesn't its still your choice. he's not your parent and he doesn't get to decide that for you.

If you really hate them let him know. I believe it's important to look good for your other half. Also kissing is horrible. He went ahead and did it anyway knowing full and well I didn't like it. He knew that from the beginning of our relationship, so it is just selfishness on his part. First thing I did was to stop kissing him, then I withheld sex. Finally, I gave him a good kiss and ripped it out with my teeth. He was angry, and I said "join the club". Needless to say, he had it removed after I threatened to shave my head. Don't back down. Make your feelings known.

It's your body, you can do with it what you please.

He doesn't have any right to control you or your actions, he can offer his opinion, but to be snarky and get upset just shows he's being possessive and controlling - which are not good attributes to have in a boyfriend.

If you want a belly button piercing do it, you're doing it for yourself and no one else. End of story.

I have my belly- button, forward helix, 1st and 2nd holes, cartilage, and nose poierced and my boyfriendn things anything more than 2 holes on your ears are gross. I just got my nose done and he's so mad its where he's about to breakup with me. I don't get it. It's controlling. Just be you. I am.
