My guess: cum stains. Either he's leaking a bit (like: sometimes a bit of cum leaks out after I take a dump) or, (not to cast aspersions or accusations but), maybe he's beating off at work or having sex with someone outside of the house. Leaking DOES occur after sex, too. Or, he could be one of those guys that cums rather easily! Like if he sees an attractive woman somewhere he might ooze a little accidentally. Quite often, you don't even notice it until a while later.
Nothing to worry about. Guys often ejaculate when dreaming (the old wet dream) and even if not that we get erections and have pre-cum drips. Its pretty normal.
