I used to think the same way: oh, they're the ugliest things I've ever seen (besides crocs), why are they so trendy? This trend is going to die out soon, who would buy them?
But then I was in the store with a friend of mine and she was trying some on while I complained that they were hideous, and she asked for them in my size and told me to try them on. When I slipped my feet into that boot it was like it went to heaven. They're the MOST comfortable things I've ever had on my feet. When I got them, it was the first time I could get through a Canadian winter without my toes feeling like ice (I have poor circulations and my fingers and toes are insanely cold in winter).
I still believe they're ugly, but I would much rather be warm and comfortable than worry about how ugly my winter boots are.
i stopped wearing them because I'm trying not to wear as much suede since I saw a video... but when I wore them I will admit a bit of it was because everyone had them... but mostly because they are so warm and comfy. the thing is when they start wearing out they really do break. on my old ones the thing at the back of the foot like inside the shoe(it's supposed to support the boot I think) is coming out and is sharp and pointy. wow that's off topic. they also smell like sh*t. but so comfy and warm.
The people who are saying that the only reason girls wear them is because they're an expensive brand, are wrong. For people who live in places that have cold weather sometime during the year (which most everyone does), then they're really convenient considering that they keep your feet nice and warm. And believe it or not, most girls couldn't give damn about what some men with no fashion sense think about their shoes :) Haha.
because theyre expensive so they are tricked into thinking that they look good...

I would never purchase a of pair of UGGS but I sure do have a pair of 30 dollar knock offs. My feet are always comfortable and Warm! I could give a crap about what anyone else thinks. Who knows? If UGGS release a style I like...maybe I will buy them! If I'm spending my own hard earned money then how is it anyone elses concern? :)
They're completely ugly.
But girls buy into fads quite easily and gravitate toward brand names---they think that if they wear them, they will be seen as stylish/trendy and well-off.
I'm as lost about them as you are. I think they are hideous. There are much cuter shoes in the world that are just as warm and comfortable.
They are now being marketed to guys as well, so watch out...
They are absolutely disgusting! I wouldn't put my feet in them if you paid me! They are foul! Comfy? Just where some flats, seriously. Who cares about comfort when you're wearing a slipper as outwear.
i think they are cute and they are very comfortable. I'm going to wear them no matter who votes on them being ugly. and I doubt any guy is gonna look at a fine girl and then look down at her feet and be like "ew never mind I can't holla at her because she's wearing uggs" and even if he did, that's not a high priority for me anyway. I love uggs so get over it
I have uggs but they aren't the ugg brand because it's a massive rip off why should anyone pay 200 dollars for synthetic crap? I wear mine in winter when I'm feeling really cold or on a crash day
Have you ever considered that it might be because of the rarity of something comfortable being allowed into women's fashion? Especially in footwear. Just you try wearing stilettos for even half a day! So ugg boots are like a gift from god :P

I wear them around the house in winter, I would never wear them in public. And I'm guessing the reason they do wear them in public is because they're warm and comfy.
I own two pairs because I like them. I don't care if a guy approves of my footwear.
