I think sleeves look really trashy and overdone on either gender. Mainly because when people get them, they have no personal meaning, its just ink. If you're going to get a tattoo, get something that means something to you--not a stupid tribal symbol or hawaiian flower. Tattoos are meant to be a unique form of expression, not something you pick out of a book.
I got my tattoo over summer as a reflection of my personal philosophy at this point in my life--so that I never forget who I am or what I stand for. I drew it, and its unique to only me.
Moral of the story, if you want a tattoo, get something that has MEANING and think seriously about its placement in case you plan on having a job that doesn't promote tattoos so you can cover it if you need to.

I'm a girl with a half sleeve and I get tons of compliments from people in real life and online.
I also have a chest piece, foot tattoo's and one on my hip. You can sort of see my chest piece on my profile picture so take a look if you like.
Who cares what other people think though! If you do it for yourself and you're sure you'll love it forever then go for it! Tattoo's are a very personal thing, and other people liking them might be an added bonus but at the end of the day it's your body to love and do what you please with.
I say go for it!
I think sleeves are generally done wrong, and thus look ugly as a result. If you want to go for it though, I'd suggest going higher on your arm (more like shoulder sleeve) that way it can be covered for professional settings. Don't try and cram too much stuff together. After time, tats fade and bleed a little, so the more distinction there is at the start, the better chances it has of staying nice in the long run.
I kinda understand what you mean, I have no tattoos or piercings, but not your "normal" guy. I dress nice, but mainly listen to rap music. I cuss all the time, but go to school & make good grades. You may think that these things are irrelevant, but my point is just because you fit the bill for being the "type of person" with tattoos doesn't mean you should go get them. Having tattoos or certain piercings can hold you back from certain things. This is just the way society is. To be in the game you have to play by the rules. sorry for the length (I tend to ramble) but to answer your question, it is neither, if a hot girl has a sleeve, she looks hott & like a badass. If an ugly girl has a sleeve, she looks ugly & like a dumbass.
i agree with davemicharl69, also if your going to have artwork stabbed onto your arm for eternity, it better have meaning. Instead of just something you found out of a book or internet, because then your just doing it to "look cool". Also you might not get as many jobs, many of my friends have been turned down from jobs because of a tat on their neck or a sleeve. If its your first, might as well get it somewhere concealable before you go somewhere where anyone can see

Personally, I love sleeves on girls. There is nothing I like more than a girlie girl with sleeves. I think it's adorable. I am tattooed (no sleeves...yet) and wear dresses every day. I don't think there is a "type" of girl who can pull of a tattoo. Tattoos flatter YOU they flow with your skin they decorate you. I love tattoos on anybody :)
it all depends on the girl like shaft said if your hot your going to look hot weather you have tattoos or not you will just attract different people because not everyone likes tattoos. for example you could look at kat von d I think she is pretty hot and she is covered in tattoos but she also has the style and attitude to go with them. its all your personality if you like them don't worry what other people think you will always find somebody who likes them
I think if you want it,do it.Youre old enough to figure it out. Also,i think ink is super awesome.I was going to tatoo up both my legs like a really fancy pair of tights. I decided against it only because I'm dark skinned and the colors wouldn't show up very well on my skin. But...its still super cool.:)
Personally, I don't like them. I think they are ugly. But I'm pretty much against all tattoos, unless they have full meaning, like a memorial or something.
But just keep in mind, if you do decide to get one, make sure you are able to cover it up for work. Most employers will not hire someone if they have a visible tattoo. If your work requires short sleeves, then I suggest you don't go for a full sleeve tattoo. Just something to keep in mind :)Personally I think its sexy as long as the tattoo is good. research your artist. If its a sh*tty tattoo I will automatically think less of you. If its awesome, then I'm gonna be very attracted to you right off the bat without knowing you.
i think they are cool! idc what others would think as long as you like it. I actually considered it at one point lol but you gotta think about how it may affect you later on, like career wise and what not.
UGLY, SLEAZY & TRASHY! I can take A tatto on a girl, maybe 2, but a sleeve is one of the ONLY things that can turn me off & make me thing the girl is GROSS!
I think they are very attractive...I'd love to get sleeved, but I'm too chicken...I think when I was done I'd have hot pink, lime green and lavender colored arms ;)
some can pull it off...others cant, I'm actaully becomming more custom to them and finding them attractive
Hot hot hot
(on a guy and on a girl)
...if it's beautiful and creative...not if it's somethingg I've already seen a million times...i reckon its f***ing hot!
but only if its done rightPerhaps it'll look good on a 20 year old, but do you really want a sleeve tattoo at age 50?
