I pierced my ears when I was 10, but had to re-pierce them a year later since the holes closed.
Those are the only piercings I have, so I can't speak for other body piercings, but it was not painful at all. The finger pricks that you have done at a doctor's office are far worse. A piercing that is professionally done and properly cleaned is hardly painful at all. At the time that I had them pierced, it was mainly because it seemed every girl had her ears pierced but me and I thought earrings were very sophisticated and pretty looking. Now, I love wearing earrings because I have very short hair, and combined with earrings it's a very fun look.
About your comment on multiple piercings--I'm not too interested in getting any other piercings (although I had a male friend who pierced his hips and I've been fond of hip piercings since.) But I am a big fan of tattoos, and I think that's sort of the same idea--why purposely do something that is painful and leaves a permanent mark on your body? I think it all comes down to self expression. It is what's becoming "cool" with the whole ridiculous emo trend nowadays, so I do think a lot of kids get these sorts of things done just to show them off to their friends. But for me, art is my passion, and I love the idea of having art on my body, especially something that represents an important part of me and my life. Obviously, someone who has a lot of piercings on their body is a little outside the norm, and that may just be their way of expressing that part of themselves to the rest of the world.

I think I was probs 13 and me and my friend agreed to both brave up and we got it done the same time. Mine hurt sooo much because they did one ear at a time and I was so scared. I can just picture the pain lol but I am really soft. I wish my mum had got mine pierced when I was a baby because then it wouldn't hurt me-or I wouldn't know what was happening so it wouldn't matter. For that reason, if I ever have a daughter I will def get her ears pierced when she's a baby. People disagree with this but idc, it is def the best thing to do. It would save her a lot of pain when she's older-unless she isn't soft like me. And when you're younger they pierced both ears at the same time which would be better. I got mine pierced because most of my friends had them done or were getting them done and I really wanted to be able to wear proper earrings. I'm glad I did too.
My parents had a rule that me and my sisters couldn't get our ears pierced until we were 15, so I got mine done right before my 15th birthday. I really don't see the point in them, but I wanted them at the time. Now, I just wear the same earrings pretty much everyday.
But it was my choice to get them done, not my parents'. I would never pierce my child's ears before they're old enough to know what's going on. It's not like it's that painful, and they're not such a big deal that they have to be done right away. You might as well wait until they know it's what they want.
i got my 1st piercing when I was only 3 months old
and funny you ask this because it was my birthday yesterday
so I kept saying to myself "i'm not gonna be scared anymore and get my 2nd piercing"
and sure enough-- I got em done.
it felt like a small pinch but that lasted like 2 seconds.
but in my family its like a tradition for girls to have their ears pierced at a very young age
I have one ear piercing, and it didn't hurt a bit when I got it. I just stuck a gold post in it, and I never gave it another thought. If I someday decide I don't care for it anymore, I just take out the post, and it will heal over again. No pain, no maintenance, no problem. Now, tattoos are a different story.

I was 11 I think. I love my earrings! I only have one in each, and it really didn't hurt. they did it, and I just said 'ouch'. seriously, no crying or anything. Getting a shot hurts a lot worse than getting your ears pierced, and if you clean them properly, you don't have problems.
i was like 4 I think .i don't know I wanted them. but I rarely wear earings now only on nights out really
ive had my eyebrow pierced, tongue, belly button, ears, nose
i took my tongue ring out
my eyebrow bar fell out it broke my skin( very common in that piercing)
nose took out straight away hated it
now I only have belly button bar still in
and I now kinda hate piercings on the face I beleive now that naturals the way to goI wish I'd gotten mine pierced earlier. I keep puttiing it off now because I'm a sissy. Earrings have been around for eons and they are just part of the beauty ritual. Sometimes, wearing earrings can really enhance your look or outfit. You might think that is silly...but humans do many things that aren't necessary for survival but for decoration purposes.
my parents let me choose if I wanted to get them pierced, so they waited until I was old enough to make a semi-informed decision. I was scared to do it, but it doesn't hurt. I now have five piercings, three on one ear, two on the other. it's not unhealthy or disgusting to have ear piercings. it's just a personal preference.
when I was like 4 and I have 3 peircings on each ear. I don't really know why I got them other than the fact I liked the earrings that I got so I decided to get 2 more peircings.
i had my ears pierced in elementary school... now I have my nose and labret done as well... I love it :)
don't knock it till you try itI was 13 I think. It didn't hurt much and I'm a total baby about getting shots and stuff. As to why I did it, I guess I thought it looked pretty.
