I'm 5'10" and 120 lbs. Am I too skinny?

I'm 5'10" and 120 lbs. I've always been extremely skinny (like to the point of being called anorexic). I don't have a lot muscle definition (other than my legs from skateboarding). I'm curious what do you girls think?

  • Well, I am 5'10 and I weigh 150 and people say when I weighed 140 people said I was anorexic looking.
    but, everyone has a different figure! I am medium boned and very toned with muscle. Everyone is different. And, you are young! You will be fine!

  • In high school I was your exact same weight. I am now 24 years old and weigh about 128. People say I look healthier now that I have gained a few pounds. Either way I think you are just fine being who you are :-)

  • I'm 5ft4 118lbs and people tell me im skinny (then again i'm pretty toned, so muscle makes me heavier). I'd imagine your BMI is pretty low but you may also be healthy. If you think you're too thin aesthetically then put on a bit of weight and tone up, otherwise just stay the same.

  • You're not done growing yet. Don't worry about it, loads of guys only fill out in their early 20's. And no you're not too skinny if you are healthy.

  • No, I wouldn't say so. You would be classified as underweight by the BMI scale, which is not reliable at all, and you'd be just a little underweight. I wouldn't trust that so much. But you may want to build some more muscle on your back and abs so you can look a little a more "filled up". I don't know what you look like, so I can't say if you need it. But if you're not happy with your body, then build some muscle up top.

    I think your way to skinny for your height.

  • Well I'm not a girl, but i want to answer your question , because I am a skinny young man too, I don't know waht girls thinking about you, but as a male I hope you have confidence, maybe some girls or guys will say down words to you, because you are skinny don't have a lot mucle, you just need to ignore them, you are skinny doesn't mean you're not attractive. if you want to get some mucle just trying hard to do physical exercise you so young still in the growth one day when you more older your body will changed, i saw a lot of young boys in this world different races when they are young they are skinny like us, by the way i'm 12lbs too. As long as you keep balanced nutrition do more exercise you will grow! anway you have a pretty face too

  • I'd say you probably are too skinny. I'm 5'4" and I weigh 140, and I'm not big either. I used to be ridiculously skinny though, gaining weight gets easier as you get older.

  • A bit under weight. I'm the same height but 153. Just get a high protein intake, higher calorie diet and workout and you'll bulk up a bit if you want a change and it bothers you.

  • You are at the border of skinny and normal according to body mass index. I recommend you try to put on a few pounds.

  • I mean, it all depends on what is actually a healthy natural weight for you (which this might be it for you), but yeah you're a bit on the skinny side for the height. I assume your body type is ectomorph, since I'm the same height as you and I'm naturally slim too. I go to the gym regularly but prior to that, my natural body weight was around 130 pounds. I'm up to 145 and there's a noticeable difference in body build and muscle tone with that extra 15 pounds packed on.
