Is calling a guy sexy the equivilant of calling a girl beautiful?

My bf will call me beautiful (like a text: good night beautiful) and I usually call him cutie (goodnight cutie) Should I call him something else? Handsome sounds too formal, or like something a mother would say, but is sexy too superficial? Is cutie not a good enough compliment? Haha im not too worried, just curious Would you guys like being called cutie, sexy, handsome, or something else (better?)

Cutie is okay but I think of middle school when I here it, still like it though

Sexy is good makes me feel confident and like the alpha male, a bit primal too

Handsome is excellent makes me feel good looking and like a gentleman which I like a lot, on the flip side makes me feel like I'm with a lady/girly girl so that's also a plus

Hot or hottie is nice also makes me feel confident, not as good as sexy or handsome though

Handsome is the equivalent to beautiful. Sexy is the same for both genders. I consider sexy to be something of a compliment on their ability to invoke sexual desire moreso than a term that encapsulates their physical attractiveness.

I would prefer my girlfriend to call me handsome, hot, or plain old good-looking.

I switch it up with my boyfriend. I call him handsome, sexy, hot stuff, occasionally babe or good looking. he responds well to all of em.
