Why do some average girls think they are really hot when they are at clubs?

So I was at a night club last night with my girlfriend and I went up to the bar to get us drinks. The place was packed but I finally made my way to the front and ended up being right next to this girl. While I was waiting for the bartender I started talking to her, not even hitting on her or anything because I didn't even find her attractive. She was a 6-7 at best and my girlfriend is about as close to a 10 as a girl can get and she was behind me the whole time but the other girl didn't see her.

I am a pretty attractive guy myself and am way out of this girls league but I guess even average girls get hit on a lot at clubs so she thought I was hitting on her I guess. When the bartender came I ordered 2 drinks and she thought I ordered one of them for her and she got all bratty and was like

"don't even try"

I actually chuckled and said

"Excuse me? This drink is for my girlfriend..."

Then I handed one of the drinks to my girlfriend behind me and you should have seen the look on the girls face when she turned around and saw my girl. My gf was just smiling at her the whole time and the other girl got super embarrassed when she realized that I couldn't have possibly been hitting on her because my girlfriend looks like a model.

I'm not trying to be a dick but why would an average looking girl refuse a drink from a guy that is above her league and why be so rude about it? In any other place she would have probably been so happy to get any attention from me but in clubs a lot of girls become huge bitches to guys for some reason.

I wasn't a dick to her as you saw but if you think there are not leagues you are lying to yourself. People usually date people of the same attractiveness. This girl was just being a bitch for no reason and I was just pointing out that she wasn't

I notice sometimes the alcohol brings out all the things wrong in a girl. I notice that my standards are technically higher than usual these days in the US thanks to how many girls are just fat these days and refuse to exercise. I've gotten better at seeing the fashion techniques they actually use to cover their weight and such.

What most girls don't realize with bars and such is that guys just want hookups. Relationships lasting that originated from a bar are rare and most are just chaotic and dramatic full of cheating, dealing with an alcoholic, drug use, and so on. So these guys are all buying drinks hoping for a one night stand. It took me very few tries with offering a drink to a girl to realize it does nothing more but give them an undeserved ego boost and nothing more. I caught onto this very quickly. So she's probably gotten so many offers that she has an inflated sense of herself.

You can also blame this on all the fat acceptance bullshit. "You're pretty no matter how fat you are" basically. Plus these girls may get hit on by better looking guys because those guys either figure it's just easier and she'll be so desperate, or the hotter girls are assumed to be taken, or will have unrealistic "standards" www.dailymail.co.uk/.../...-rich-men-pregnant.html

So basically once these girls get offered all these drinks and receive special treatment and all they're convinced they're so hot and when you come along and turn her self entitled ass down a blood vessel pops in her head and she goes nuts.

Look at all the girls trying to turn your story into you being a bad guy when the TL:DR version is you talked to a girl and she assumed you offered her a drink and got pissed when she found out you were buying one for your girlfriend. She's the pissed off one, not you. You were just making small talk. Really says a lot about their character.

Being in the US, obesity's a huge problem here and we got fatties trying to make all sorts of demands and when they see that the guy will at most give it a quick fuck, she'll try to twist the story onto the guy being the bad guy. Guys just try to stick with attractive women because they like what they like. Your typical guy will hook up with a lesser attractive girl because he knows it's only once (or for a little while) and he can stay focused on finding a girl who actually takes care of her body in the mean time. He can get a better person.

But nowadays girls just try to rely on makeup and hiding the parts of them they don't like with super loose clothing and such when they should be exercising as it's good for health and the girl won't even need makeup. But the typical girl just tries throwing makeup on her fat face to compensate, thus making her look like a fat clown instead of a healthy individual.

But I'm a cocky asshole for pointing out that we should be healthy! :D

It shouldn't be surprising people voted that way. Most girls judge how hot they are based on the looks of the guys that approach. While the men know we often approach unattractive girls because it is easier.

First of all beauty is subjective. What you may find as 6, others may consider 8. Same from a 10 to a 6. Plus I think the reason she was embarassed was not the fact that your girlfriend is "such a model", but because she though you didn't have one and that you bought her a drink. nothing wrong with that. I agree she may have acted a little bitchy, but rejecting the drink without knowing the situation was perfectly normal, because it happens for girls to be approached by creeps at the bar or by guys who also add a little something to the drink. So get over yourself. She was not embarrased because your gf is too hot for you to hit on anyone else or because you are out of her league., she was embarrassed because she didn't know you had a girlfriend. I'd consider myself a 6-7 and I know for sure that when I'm out in the clubs I'll get hit on and groped the same as everyone else, guys just do it. I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding on her part thinking you were another leery male trying to get her drunk. Last week a guy gave me a drink with 4 shots of vodka in it so it does happen, very often, even to us 'average' girls. She was harsh when declining your offer yes but it might have been the fact she'd been hit on all night and was trying to escape to the bar or something. Bad timing. FYI- We don't assume we're more attractive in the clubs, we just know that men do settle for less when they've had a few. The average girls are thought to be easier anyway.

Why are girls more confident in clubs? Well for once there is usually alcohol involved which lower inhibitions. The most guys hope to get laid, thus pay more attention to girls in general. And while most girls have no intention of going home with them they enjoy the attention.

with that out of the way I'll tell you why average girls in the club think that their shit don't stink. When many guys go to the club they want a hook up. Now to increase their chance most men will go after average girls (its only for one night after all). They don't go for hot girls because the assumed strike rate will be lower. Now when the average girl is getting hit on a lot it is not unheard of for her to get an inflated ego and believe that she somehow went up a few notches in attractiveness and now can be even more picky. In the club people are generally more frank about their intentions. Just like a guy will walk up and be overt about liking how she looks or move, that same girl will tell him straight that he has zero chance which comes across a bitchy. When alcohol is added girls are used to guys who don't understand "no" and may be more agressive in their defence. On one hand you can blame them and on the other hand you can't.

You should wait until the club is about to close lol 1-3 type girls having the confidence and standards of a 10 and for that final call they can because guys are really willing to almost anything for a lay

OK so I am a LOT older than the crowd commenting here, but the same exact thing went on in the 80s clubs as well.

It was a big thing then to "buy the girl a drink." And most of the time they got rejected. So the waitress would bring the drink over to my table. I would tell the waitress to, "Take the drink back to her, tell her to pay for it herself, and then bring it over here and drink it with me."

I had about a 25% success ratio with that, and the girl would pay for it and then come over. I figure that was pretty good. A lot of girls looked over and laughed, and one actually flipped me off.

The thing I figured out was that buying the girl a drink made her feel obligated. When she paid for it herself, she no longer felt obligated and was willing to talk and hang out. At least a couple of times, that turned into something. Mostly short term, but it was fun while it lasted.
