Thoughts on spooning?

I think most women would say it's a nice form of cuddling, but do women EXPECT to feel a hard on from their guy when doing so or does that just make it awkward?

Spooning is for after the orgasms. Women definitely do NOT EXPECT to feel a hard on from the guy when spooning. If you are spooning for a while and you suddenly do get your "second wind" she might say something like "Hmmm. I think your friend down there is trying to tell me something!" Then you can fuck more, do some oral whatever … the important thing is to have fun and be relaxed about it.

That's a really good point. Most will only spoon with a partner they want to have sex with. And I think you are the first to mention the sexual position itself! Great position for slow, drawn out sex. Not sure it works for everyone though; at that angle the guy needs to be sized for it.

Yea, cowgirl never made a whole lot of sense to me unless the woman was pregnant or it was her first time and she insisted on more control. Otherwise it seems more of a contrivance for adult films to show off more of the female's body. I don't know that doggie is a great position, but it certainly puts a woman in a more vulnerable position that indicates trust. That in itself is pretty sexy. But spoon position sex? That is all about intimacy.

I think it's very normal in an established relationship. But those moments can be a little trickier earlier on in a relationship when you're still getting to know one another. But I suppose two people could get to know each other very well by following your suggestion...
