Guys: I need to know. Do you consider this attractive or too forward?
Sometimes when I meet a guy, I feel that this is the only way to get my point across that I'm interested. I'm not that good at flirting... but I guess giving your number to a guy without him asking would be a form of flirting.

And I feel like asking someone to see their phone (to put in your number) is a bit juvenile. I mean, people used to do that but I'm a bit older now

People still do that, the phone thing... but thats after talking for a while, also we don't care how we get your number as long as we get it lol.
I've found out that its just to see what KIND of phone sometimes when a girl asks for the phone. The way i see it, there are three ways viewing getting a number... either she asks for his phone, asks him to pull his phone out or something and take it down, or you writing it down and handing it to him.
Disclaimer: this doesn't apply to all guys, nor to the personality of the girl
Asks for phone: most likely the nosy/shallow type
Take it down: Interested but could detach easily, maybe nonchalant
writing it down: it means "call me, I'm definitely interested", it also adds that air of mystery.

Out of those three girls, in my opinion, the one who wrote it down is the one i'd be more interested in calling. if you want to make it a little more interesting, i suggest getting a pen or something and writing it on his palm, that way, there is a time limit. if he's interested, he'll take it down before it fades, if he's not as interested and it fades, both ways you have an answer.

If you're not good in flirting, consider just asking a guy if it would make him happy if you left your number.
You can explain why by just saying: "let me leave you my number. I enjoyed the chat and it would be so nice if we could do that again".
