Nope. Just don't make it awkward. Make sure you open up with something you two are comfortable talking about in your base, like school or homework lol. Mine started in Instagram and that's weird, but now were texting, so goodluck.

It's not weird but start off with a school question first like "hey do you know the hw as?" Then go from there. And ask for her number

I dont think it would be, infact if i were here and I wanted to talk to you, i would think its less awkward to start online.
Just be nonchalant about it: "Hi! Saw you here on Twitter. How are you?" Or something like that.
