How can I convince him to go to the prom?

I really like this guy. One problem. The guy is a semi-big partier, and I tend to just go out have a good time and not drink. Prom is coming up and he knows that I want to go with him, my friends have talked to him and he said he wouldn't mind going with me, its just the fact that I don't really drink, so he's leaning towards not even going. What can I do to convince him to go and that he'll have a good time? Help please!

Hmm, that really depends on how much he likes you. If he's going to the prom with you only because you could be *a* partner, I doubt that he won't drink at the prom.

You could probably hit up a few female friends and stick with them with he's drinking - whatever you do, don't let his behaviour get in the way for you to have a great time! If he likes you enough, he will respect your feelings and be sensible enough to at least spend a decent amount of time with you at the prom before enjoying drinks with his friends etc.

You shouldn't have to *convince* a guy to go to prom with you. If he likes you and you like him, he should want to go just to be with you. If prom is important to you but he doesn't even want to go, maybe he doesn't like you as much as you like him.

I think you're absolutely right, classy. And also, if you don't want to drink, then don't drink. If a guy won't go with you just because of something that's that superficial, then he's going to be a crappy date and will expect a lot from you. Don't waste your time. Have a good time at your prom, and don't have any regrets or scars from the experience - it should be fun!
