What's up when a guy follows you on Instagram?

This guy randomly followed me first on Instagram. I've talked to this guy like four times. He follows about 200 people, but a lot of those people are in his grade and people he knows pretty well. I'm not saying the guy is in love with me or anything, but when a guy who you've only talked to a few times (who isn't even in your grade) randomly adds you on instagram, does he think you're cute or pretty or something like that.

One more thing is he doesn't follow *everyone*. A friend of mine who's in his grade (who he's known for years) followed him, but he didn't follow her back. And you would think he'd follow a girl he's known for years and is on friendly terms with her, OVER a girl he just met this year and has had only said a few words to (me). He also didn't follow my other friend back, when she followed him. So that goes to show he is sort of picky about who he follows. He's very social and comes from an affluent family in our community, so I wouldn't be surprised if he actually knows 200 all people he follows, personally. So what do you think is up? Once again, I'm not saying he even likes me, but do you think he at least has some interest in me or finds me cute or something?

It's a guy thing I followed my crush on there and like 10 seconds later he followed me back, it can also be a sign of interest.

But in regards to this specific situation... considering we've only said a few words to each other, would you say a guy who has an interest in a girl (but doesn't know her well) might do this?

Yes!! My crush did this to me like 3 weeks after we meet keep in mind we only see eachother 1nce a week! And if a guy doesn't like a girl he will wait severeal weeks and unfollow her like with snapchat!

Why would he wait several weeks and unfollow her?

I have no idea it's what they do... If he likes you he keeps you on his following list! If he doesn't he don't keep you there

Keep in mind it's also normal if he likes you he won't like your pictures out of nervousness

Is that true? Because he doesn't like any of my pictures. But he also doesn't like just *anyone's* pictures. The only pictures he likes are:

pictures of his very very close, best friends.
artsy/photography stuff.
his favorite bands.

He doesn't ever like people's everyday photos.

Another thing is, he never posts pictures, but I know he uses his account because like I said, every so often he will like his close close friend's pictures. One time a friend of his asked him in the comments when he would post pictures, and he replied "never."

Basically, he rarely likes people's pictures, he doesn't like people's everyday photos, yet he follows close to 200 people on that account, including me.

It's common! And guys usually never post pictures online! My guy didn't even have 1 selfie on there before he deactivated his acct.

Also a different guy (who I suspect likes me) never likes any of my photos BUT he likes a lot of other girl's photos.

Not trying to be annoying haha, but do you think the first guy is using his account to instagram stalk people. Maybe it's a bunch of people, or maybe it's a few, but do you think that's the reason he set up the account?

I mean not *stalk* but just actively look at girls pictures.
