What to do if I'm a boring texter?

Help there's this guy I text we take turns initiating texts, but I'm not much of a conversationalist and apart from asking questions, I feel that our conversations stall sometimes. Eg I'll say something like "oh wow that's interesting"... And I don't know what to say next? Or sometimes he'll say "haha yeah I totally get that", and I don't know how to respond? Obviously I don't force the convo and there would be a pause of about half a day or so, until something interesting crops up and the convo starts up again. Guys would you keep initiating texts even if the girl you're texting isn't very creative with her answers? And how do I text more creatively? (P. S. I'm the nice sort of girl, slightly conservative culture where I am, so no weird sexting stuff thanks)

In case there's any misconceptions, this guy is my friend and we talk in person too, just that it's summer hols and we are both kind of grounded at home :/ hence the texting

Personally, i don't like texting outside of butt jokes and getting important information. I traditionally call people and meet in person.

Now i've been yelled at that dating nowadays is text dependent so i've compromised however.. texting & dating is just mundane and work to me.

I have no advice, i'm going to just date w/o the back and forth of texting, i'll report back months from now.

That's why I hate texting and talking to girls over dating websites who are like "Oh! Well I don't meet that easily!" What the fuck do you mean you don't meet that easily? I have to keep talking to you through this thing? Just meet me in person, have some human contact, much more exciting.

I don't do dating sites lol. I do hang out with him in person regularly during and after college, it's just that now it's summer hols and we've got a major examination coming up, so both of us are more or less grounded at home

Yeah, my point though was talking to each other that way is so sterile, if you're busy with exams just wait until you're done with that. He's got the same stuff going on, he'll understand, it'll be better for you both and when you're finally done you'll be happy to see each other after not talking for awhile.

What to do if he keeps starting up convos like "hi what's up" or "how's your revision going" though? I think it'll be terrible to ignore him?

Eh, just let him know you're busy. Just say "Oh yeah, pretty swamped right now, I've got sooo much work to do" or something that's a friendly implicit way of letting him know you're occupied.

Just be yourself, don't start forcing conversation. No one says you have to be in constant communication so just go with the flow. When I have something I don't know how to respond to I juts don't respond. Let him think of something else to say, ha!

Without some flirting sexting it will get boring pretty fast, so if ur from a conservative culture then maybe either be less conservative or just accept that you will have boring conversations. Of course it's up to you to change ur culture, why don't you be a leader and start changing, in America/western culture out texting is a lot more fun, we're free to say and do things you could never imagine.

That's a pretty bold suggestion, but I'm still schooling and flirting is okay but I think if anyone leads the way and starts sexting it's gonna creep him out really bad. He's pretty traditional himself

Sorry could you explain what you think it's meant for? For me I would prefer if texting is just for arranging to meet up, or for discussing school project assignments etc. Unfortunately it seems I'm in a generation where texting is substituting real time talking, so I feel obliged to do so otherwise I'd totally be a hermit and be clueless and all. What do you think?

Oh haha but he texts a lot of people girls and guys, so I don't know. But outside of school every time we're together he'll compliment my attire... So I compliment him too, and I really hope he'll just find the courage to tell me his feelings
