Guys, Shy guys do you feel overwhelmed when you are alone with your crush?

So yesterday I saw my friend for like 15minutes and he was acting all jumpy and nervous around me. We were kind of alone and he was just behaving in a really strange way. I do think he likes me, and I know he is a bit shy (though he likes to pretend he isn't...) and insecure. Could it be that? I'd be devastated if he doesn't like me after all. He was so excited about seeing me, and he texted to tell me. But can it really be THAT bad? Help me out here guys pls x

Yes, it can be *that* bad. Shy guys often develop very intense feelings for our crushes beyond what we betray to the outside world. Most shy guys get very nervous for the simple reason that we're terrified of being rejected, because we've been rejected harshly or a lot in the past.

Really? But he's gorgeous and lots of chicks fancy him (he does get really embarrassed when I tease him about it though). Because that must mean that he REALLY has a crush on me in a way, doesn't it?

Not all good-looking guys are brimming with self-confidence. Some of us were late bloomers. Some of us were fat kids who grew into our bodies. In any case, he just isn't the typical narcissist who believes he's god's gift. And yes, he does have a crush on you, which makes him all the more nervous that he's not going to measure up.

Give him clear signals of your interest, and show him that your interest isn't going to evaporate the minute he makes a minor misstep. Just reassure him and maybe tease him a little ;-) Good luck.

haha yes he is crazy inlove with you. Touch his arm and hug him see his response. Damn wish I was that guy, iam way to cautious around woman so I can relate to the poor dude.

I did hug him. He froze... I mean he hugged me back but it was all really awkward😁 and then he sits down two seats away from me and keeps looking around (for other girls?) it was soo awkward. It got a bit better when I asked him to show me some stuff on my phone😉 I bet lots of girls like you, because they reckon you're all mysterious and stuff 😊

Yes. It's that bad. I don't know it's still that bad at your age but for shy guys my age it certainly is.

Yeah that's why I'm wondering if it can still be that bad at this old age? ;) would you also look pretty much everywhere just not at her when you're talking to her?

That's hard to say, everyone has his own nervous ticks. It might be what he does when he's embarrassed or excited, keep an eye on that kind of sign, sounds like an indicator to me though :)
It's incredibly hard to look at your crush casually because you think that she suspects something and you think that you look at her too much, which makes you nervous and then you try to look somewhere else trying to be casual but actually being even more obvious, I think I did that all the time ;)

I think you could try making him more comfortable or first try to make sure that it's really a crush or love and not something negative, sounds pretty positive to me though. If you see him more often he should loosen up a bit and maybe approach you somehow, if he's extremely shy then you should approach him in some way, start making some body contact or just talk to him about that and make him feel confident, but first give him some time to get used to you. Thank you. Well let me tell you that all the people that tell you that are very much correct. It's like I'm talking to someone my age (let's hope that doesn't offend you!!😉)
He did come up to talk to me initially, when we met on a course, which is why I thought he was chatting by up everyone like that (he isn't) and he does the body contact bit sometimes when we're in a group. He's also much more chilled out when we are with friends and he behaves more normal and less nervous. when it's just the two of us he seems to be extra nervous in the beginning, he never sits next to me, always with a seat in between or he just stands!! I told him to either sit down straight away or otherwise serve me a drink. And then he did sit down next to me after all😉 ok I'll stop now, I'm rambling on 😄thanks for listening x
