It should be organic. Follow her lead; if she replies quickly you can do so as well. If she takes a little longer to reply you should back off a bit.
I'd be concerned if she never initiates the conversation at all - a person who is truly interested will do this.
Whenever you have something to say, text her whenever you want. If a girl actually thinks responding quickly "looks desperate", then she's a stupid hoe and not worth it.

I like it when a guy can reply back as soon as possible, most guys I know/have texted usually text back within minutes. I kind of tend to get irritated when a guy replies the next day. I don't mind if a guy texts me constantly, so long as he can continue the conversation when it's getting quiet. Otherwise when the conversation gets dead, I won't text back because I'd feel like I'm too annoying or what.
It's SUCH a big plus if the convo manages to keep going ( I have a thing with convos where they just start slipping after a few weeks..)
I love funny people, so if he can play around with words, that's awesome.
Yeah to responding quickly (understandably people have things to do, but when there's time), like not like after a day... unless there's a real reason.
And sure, guys initiating the convo is cool, though I try to do it myself as well.

I like when a guy responds quickly I hate to wait too long and it also shows me he is intersted in me.
I don't care who initiates the texts but of course it's nice when the guy starts but I don't mind... It's not a deal breaker if I like him I would text him as well :) hope this helped.
If you want to talk to her, text her. If she is responding right away, keep up the conversation unless you get busy and need to take a break. If you say you will talk to her later, make sure you do. Most women do like when a guy initiates the texting, too, but that isn't a big deal.
