What makes someone seem innocent?

My boyfriend always comments on how innocent I am, and how much he loves it. He's not the only one who says that. My friends, family, and even people that I sometimes talk to online say that I'm innocent. I just don't get what I'm doing to come off as that way. What makes someone come across as innocent?

I think some people use the word innocent and childlike interchangeably. I was always called innocent until I got married. I also think it was used to describe my sense of hope for the world. A child will wear rose coloured glasses. They are not jaded or scared, just curious. They are not cynical and have not been exposed to most horrors or obscenities that the world seems to be full of. Innocent, pure, chaste, childlike. I would throw all of these words into the same category. At the same time, being this innocent and pure means that you are corruptible. You can be molded in a way those who would use you see fit. It makes you vulnerable. It makes you something to protect and fight over. Be wary of those who would use you for your innocence.

Haha I really don't know Miss_Desirae. Sometimes when you are on here long enough, you gain a following - sometimes this following is good and sometimes it's not so good. I know of one person at least who has blocked me (likely because of the article I wrote) and I'm sure there are plenty of others who dislike me. It's bound to happen when people have opposing opinions. They don't know me. All they see is my advice and so judge me based on this. *shrug* down arrows don't phase me any more xD

I agree with this and add that sometimes, a person who comes face to face with the bad things the world can throw at one, instead of losing his or her innocent quality rather refines it further with the realization that allowing the touch of evil to corrupt oneself only increases its prevalence in the world. When you stare down into the void, the void doth stare back, but some people are good enough to put a lid on that sh*t.
