What's the best way to respond to "Good morning/night beautiful"?

What would be the best way to respond to a "Good morning/night beautiful" text? I feel weird saying handsome, but are most guys okay with that? Or what would make you as a guy feel the best after sending that text. Usually I just respond with "good morning/night *his nickname here* :) <3" but I want to do something more for him.

We aren't officially together but we both like each other and have gone on a couple dates

well before my girlfriend moved in with me we talked on the phone for about two hours before bed and I would always say goodnight beautiful and I was ok with a simple good night from her because I didn't need her to give me a Nickname or call me handsome I knew she loved me and that was all I needed
