Why does he constantly poke me in my sides?

When my old childhood friend comes to visit We usually go to the movies and it's with our parents like a big get together fam thing. We always get paired together and end up sitting next to each other in the backseat. He loves to constantly poke my sides and tickly me. My parents just think it's cute. they all say he still has a crush on me . When we were little he did admit to having a crush on me and I lied and told him no I didn't have one on him when I did. Why does he always do that?

The last time I saw him he followed me when I went around the side of the house 4 privacy and he hugged me. But it was an too friendly

he really does love you, but he feels that your not giving the love back. so he's trying all does funny things on you to get your attention or to get the good in you out... from my point of view, because I was in the same situation with one of my x in the past.
