What do I do when my guy puts his arm around me in public?

When we're out, walking around, or whatever… He'll sometimes touch the small of my back or put his hand on my hip. I usually don't know what to do and he ends up taking his hands away. I think he thinks I don't like it. But I just don't know what I'm supposed to do! I never touch him in public and I never do flirty-flirty things with him. What am I supposed to do when he does that?

snuggle closer to him, kiss him, put your arm around his back or hold/caress his hand. let him know you've taken notice of his affection and you like it. you can only get comfortable doing something by continuingly doing it. if you don't know what to do, the best thing to do is imitate his gestures in response. if he holds your hand, holds his back. if he wraps his arms around you, snuggle into his embrace to hug him back. don't be shy, you already have him and he's attracted to you if he's showing the world you're his girl through pda. just relax and let it flow, hun :)

so true. My girlfriend didn't respond to my fist attempts and I simply told her I'd like something back if she truly loved me. Turns out she did =D

I'm very happy with him, I just don't particularly like public displays of affection. Especially having to watch other couples. I just don't think I'm a naturally touchy-feely person. But I should put forth more of an effort, if only to reassure him that the feeling is reciprocated. Thanks :)

Go with it. Put your arm around his back. It's really not as awkward as you think. Me and my guy buddies do it all the time. It's just a sign of admiration for the other person.

He's trying to show his affection for you through physical contact. All you need to do is put your arm around him or hold hands to return the gesture. He probably pulls away because it would seem awkward if you didn't acknowledge it with some sort of response. Try being more flirty and affectionate in public, it'll go a long way.
